How did you come up with your username?

What a cool headed little guy you were, Beezer!

We should all use our childhood nicknames. I got my family nickname because my older brother watched "cops and robbers" shows all the time and then acted them out with me as one of the characters. My dad heard him calling me "Punk." He thought it was a funny name for a fluffy little girly-girl and I remained Punk or Punkie forever.
If I used my childhood nickname, given to me by my uncle, it would be "Dugout Doug". :(

Instead I'm Doug and I was in the cruise industry so "Sea".

When l joined Senior Forums over eight years ago the name Olivia attracted me and l still like it
and use it. When l asked my dad and mom why they gave me my birth name, they said they didn't know.
So the way l figure it, someone dropped me off in front of the hospital doors with a name tag
attached to me. My parents would never admit it. lf l didn't look exactly like my mom, l would have my doubts..

My screen name was Jazzy147 on another forum almost two decades ago, so I liked your screen name immediately. :) Here's why I chose OneEyedDiva:
During glaucoma surgery, one eye at a time, my doctor surprised me by correcting my nearsightedness and astigmatism so that I could see 20/20. The surgeries were approximately a year apart. After the first one my brain couldn't process the major differences in vision of each eye. I tried removing the right lens of my glasses...didn't work. Since I had to start putting so many drops in my eyes, contacts weren't an option. Finally I substituted brown construction paper for the right eyeglass lens. My frames were tortoise shell colored..

My husband and I went to the mall one day and I could tell people were looking at me strangely as they approached. If I was younger I would've been mortified, but I thought it was kind of funny because I imagined that from a distance it probably looked like I only had one eye since the glasses frame and construction paper were similar to the color of my skin. Fancying myself a music diva, I chose the name OneEyedDiva.

There was a thread asking the same question many years ago. I answered it back then and I suppose you could look it up if you care to. It's not worth the effort in my opinion as it is mundane

I've been Cornhusker or Cornhusker77 on multiple forums from homesteading to firearms to cars, Jeeps, etc. for over 20 years.
I'm from Nebraska and like most Nebraskans, I'm a Cornhusker through and through. (UNL sports)
I could have used my name, but "Tim" has no pizazz.

Growing up and into middle adulthood, in my family's eyes I was Never Good Enuff. Even though I was the only one who had a good job/career, never asked for help, managed on my own. No matter how hard I tried. One day I read a book about trying so hard and failing and I realized it wasn't my fault, it was their perceptions and jealousy. So now I am Good Enuff.

Lol, if I used my childhood nickname, it would be Cyclone Annie. Very appropriate.
