Thank you! Hon and I will give it a whirl!I don't share this with many people.Thee best! This is more of a spread than a dip. You could thin with buttermilk, I guess.
Perhaps Loblaws carries it? Not sure as I never frequent that store.in which grocery store do you find them
In a pinch you could substitute roasted red peppers.@Beezer, in which grocery store do you find them. Amazon is $32 for a little jar.
I remember that spread.....do they even make it any more? I should lookThis is the only commercial pimento cheese product that I remember, the jars always ended up as our juice glasses.

There are various easy recipes for pimento dips and spreads, give it a Google.

I havenāt thought of cheese straws in years!Palmetto Cheese is about the closest to home made Iāve tried. They have a whipped version now thatās a great dip. My wife has a recipe from her mother (both her mother and grandmother were county home economists) thatās really good, using sharp cheese, itās a pain to grate and requires a powerful mixer, but worth the trouble for really excellent pimento cheese.
Her cheese straws are to die for too.
To everything there is a seasonā¦Laughed at this the link.
āServe with cocktails, highballs, tomato juice, soup or salads.ā
Cocktails or highballs also were a staple.
What store did you find them in?
I didnāt find them in any store. I put diced pimentos in a search for Canadian items. What store did you find them in?
There are none in any of the grocery stores here, even the specialty shops.I didnāt find them in any store. I put diced pimentos in a search for Canadian items.
Sorry.
I have a jar from Costco. What was I thinking? I donāt even have a clue about what I was planning on making. My fridge is small and packed with everything but what I need. I really need to get the kalamata (sp?) olives in there. In a pinch you could substitute roasted red peppers.
They are not as sweet but very similar.
My mom made cheese biscuits like those.I havenāt thought of cheese straws in years!
Mine were always shaped like coins, similar to this recipe for Cheese Hokies from Gladys Taber.
