Living out in a somewhat rural area a past time is watching the wildlife and their habits as well as personalities of some.
My neighbor and I watch and share feeding birds and squirrels (her the squirrels, myself the birds)
We noticed the beginning of the mating rituals start in the squirrel kingdom this past week. The chasing, the tumbling the female getting ticked and barking at him to JUST LET ME EAT. One set dubbed Romeo and Juliette mainly where the most active.
Right here on my tree next to my porch I witnessed Romeo finally find the right moment.
The day after that, today, I see the feral cat creeping across the street and I knew, I quickly stepped off the steps but I was too late.
I began banging on the fence but the cat just glanced up at me with poor Romeo in his teeth and he quickly sped across the street Romeo swinging
with the movement.
Alas Poor Romeo, your day has come but your memory may live on in about 2-3 months.
A moment of silence please>
