How are you today?

I'm finer than earlier this morning because I actually drew my three biggest flower beds and what's gonna go where next spring. It's something I've been saying I'd do for the longest time. Also drew in what's there now so that when the perennials die back in the winter, I'll know they're there when planting come March and April.

And the drawings are in a spiral notebook so that I won't lose them.

Yay me. I feel so...so...accomplished!

I survived another lawn mowing. I didn't do my walk this morning because I use a walk behind power drive mower. Three hours of round de round should equal at least three miles.

I survived the heat and the wind kicked up and that sure felt good blowing thru sweat soaked garments. Now showered and eating a pot pie for lunch. No plans except staying cool. High revised to 90 F.

Woke up above ground, always a good way to start the day! ☺️

I'm at work, finished up some reports - then going to pay sales tax... should be quiet after that, unless we get a random customer - which is a good thing, but rare to get a walk-in.

Making plans for next week when my boys are coming to visit - can't wait !!!!

Wishing everyone a GREAT day! 🌷

Sorry, Deya - I gave your post a like earlier, didn't notice, then gave it a like again later on, except all that did was remove the first like, so then I put another one. I need to slow down today and pay more attention to what I'm doing. :(

I’m a little taken back by this …..actually this was taken in Costco 2 hours ago ….OMG …they used to wait till Father’s Day was over with ….which is September 7th …..but it appears they want to get in first and sell their stock before others start displaying thier Christmas 🎄 goods …

to be honest I don’t ever remember seeing Christmas trees in shops …..in ….AUGUST

Christmas in Australia is in mid summer ….WE are currently still in Winter 🥶

I guess there are people who buy Christmas stuff early, there used to be a Christmas shop locally which sold only Christmas stuff and was open all year round.

That soldier is quite something but, I wonder what it has to do with Christmas and, on a practical level, what would you do with it the rest of the year!

This morning is cooler but still warm. I am just about to have a shower and go out for the day. Meeting up with family. Fortunately we all get on so, it will be good :)

Yesterday was very humid. I had just got the washing in when the rain started. Five minutes later and it would all have been soaked!

Have a good day everyone :)

@Trish The soldier is actually a nutcracker, as in Nutcracker Suite ballet.

According to that famous musicophile, Dr. Google, The Nutcracker, Op. 71, is an 1892 two-act classical ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, set on Christmas Eve at the foot of a Christmas tree in a child's imagination featuring a Nutcracker doll.

How am I this morning? Gosh, it's really too early to tell. My coffee hasn't kicked in quite yet.

Yanno those pharma commercials on TV? I don't pay any attention to them...they're just background noise...but last night I happened to turn the TV on when the voice-over was reciting all the side effects. Whatever was being advertised "shouldn't be taken by the elderly." Hm. It occurred to me that I'm "elderly"! I thought I was just old, but nope. Elderly.

Oh...those side effects? One of them is death. :poop: happens.

Today is laundry day. Why do we keep doing stuff like that over and over? The clothes are just going to get dirty again. Like dusting and vacuuming. Wait a week, and it has to be done again. And again. >le sigh<

Gotta greet the day and get started optimizing and maximizing and stuff.

Oooo! I almost forgot to mention that way back in the way back, when I was much younger, I was in the Nutcracker. Yup. I was a daffodil in the Waltz of the Flowers. My "leaves" were long, shoulder-length green satin gloves. A vision. I was a vision:ROFLMAO:

Feeling good here this morning. It's 7 a.m. and I've been up for more than three hours already. Gearing up for still another very hot and humid day. For some reason, I was just thinking about how Granny Clampett's "rheumatiz" would seriously be acting up in this kind of weather. (Yeah, I know I'm weird, no need for anyone to point that out. 🤪🙃 )

I believe he's a nutcracker. They were often made to look like old fashioned soldiers; I think it's part of the Nutcracker Suite that is often performed at Christmas time. What would we do with it when it's not Christmas? Good question!

A hot humid start to the day, got our daily 2.5 mile walk in at 6:30 AM. Supposed to be 96 degrees today with 70% relative humidity. We are planning a golf cart ride to the newly opened Portillo's restaurant for lunch. You gotta be from the Chicago area to be familiar.

Speaking of Christmas decorations above, we were in Hobby Lobby a week ago today and they already had put a lot of Christmas decorations and Christmas trees on display One tall Christmas tree was $2,699.00 !!
