How are you today?

The short story is life was great until I opened the big the second time, at 3:00 PM. I was greeted by two or three huge hornets and got stung five or six times; all but one sting in the same spots on my hand.😡😡

It happens that it was my arthritic thumb and fingers that were botoxed. It will be something if that helps the arthritis .

The venom rush stopped after 20 minutes and three benedryl. All that’s left is the residual misery hornets are so good at causing 🤬🤬

My day with my son was wonderful. He makes me laugh, think, gives me great conversation topics.
Surprises me with things he knows and has interest in I would never dream he would. He sometimes
can be a bit stingy in his humor of the ironic but you have to laugh because it's true.
He took me and hubby to Sam's Club and stocked us up on somethings and he even made that enjoyable.
I was reluctant to choose anything out and he told me unless I wanted to turn this shopping trip into the old folks
style of the Indy 500, I better start choosing some stuff or it's 50 laps around the store we go.
So I am feeling Blessed and loved today. I will take that and make it last as long as I can.
It was one great day, my wish is to pass it on that each of you have a day that makes you feel it too.

@Kadee...that mask is kinda cute. Did you know that automobile windshields have both UVA and UVB protection? Not the side or back glasses, just the windshields.

You live in upside down land. Spring🌷 on the way when we've got autumn🍁 on the wa
We are not permitted to tint the front windshield @Georgiagranny

i copied this*****

***(In Australia, you can have a tinted strip on the top of your front windshield, but it must be less than 10% of the windscreen's surface and located above the area swept by the wipers.

Full windshield tinting is generally not permitted )****

We bought our car new in 2020 ..and the top part was already tinted and we had the rest of the car done before picking it up

Yep I’m Aussie ..never traveled outside of Australia and no desire to do so ….however we do travel quite a bit
Mainly in winter ….
Like you I'm a gardener but in a very ~ small, scale compaired to what you do ….most Aussie blocks of land we get homes built on in Aust ….are on average about 20 mtrs wide x 45 deep ..my main interest is growing our own fruits which we bottle / dry eat fresh as well as veggies ….flowers / shade loving plants like begonias

@Kadee...no no no! The UV protection is built into the glass. It looks like ordinary windshield glass, but the UV protection is already there. It isn't tinted glass like people have put on their other auto glass.

It's gelato time! My second favorite time of day. First is morning coffee on the patio. As a reward for getting a job, I'm gonna eat a little bit more tonight :)

@Paulina It's not a career kinda job, a job at Dollar Tree. I'll be restocking shelves, arranging displays, that kinda stuff. At first it will probably only be 10/hrs/wk, but as we get closer to the holidays, more hours.

I've been wanting to work there for a long time. I stayed away for about a year and a half because the one closest to me was such nasty, dump. Then they got a new manager, and when we went in one day about a year ago, it was clean and organized and actually a fun place to browse.

I looked online for jobs at that store, but until about two weeks ago, there weren't any jobs listed. I applied online, and when we were in the store again, mentioned to the manager that I'd applied. There's a sort of "scale" online that shows the status of your application, but it didn't move off the first stage thanking me for applying.

One day last week, DD badgered me into going in to ask the manager why that would be. He took me into his office and looked up my application, found it, made an appointment for me to interview this morning.

And...what he told me today was that there were 21 applicants, but I was the only one who followed up. What? He said it told him that I really want to work there. And to think that I didn't want to go in when DD brought it up because I felt like I'd be badgering him.

It will be a week or two before I'm scheduled to work because there will be a background check. I've never been convicted of a crime, but I did get a traffic ticket on my 40th birthday. Once the background check is done, he'll put me on the schedule.

I have no idea what it pays and really don't give a rat's rear. I just want somewhere to go and something to do. Having a little fun $$ is a bonus.

The best part of all is that I'd been scheduled for an interview at McD's next Monday. Now I get to cancel it. I really, really didn't want to work there but would have if it was all I could get.

I hope I never again get the bright idea of retiring. For me, that's just not anything I want to do. Retirement is for other people.

Woohoo and other exclamations of delight🎉🎊:)
Congratulations. Stocking shelves sounds like fun. You make us all proud.

You are correct @Georgiagranny I never thought to ask when we bought the car

just shows we can learn something new everyday :):):)

This is what we have … copied this bit .***
Yes, the Nissan Qashqai's windshield and side windows provide UV protection. While not explicitly advertised as a distinct feature, the glass used in the Qashqai is designed to block a significant amount of harmful ultraviolet

Did I ever say thank you for starting this Thread @Paulina (y)(y) i like to chat about this and that about …..and I'm almost a day in front of most of you :):):) ….seeming I live in Australia
to be more precise South Australia …where it’s just morning tea time for us on a Tuesday morning @9 .45 am

I had a bad flair of neuropathy starting Sat. evening. I started feeling functional a couple hours ago. My pain doctor. says Aleve and Tylenol together works good. I will be trying that tonight. THC gummies I am using during the day.

I hope this is helpful to anyone with pain, I like reading what others are doing for their aches. It's a old age thing. :)

Also keeping up with current events is a massive job. Finding out what is really going on is unsatisfactory, but it is the only way to research. I guess everything is is complicated. I aught to read my own tag line. :)

Decent day overall, and although it's too hot for me, I feel a bit refreshed
after sitting on the balcony with an iced tea :)
