What accomplishment are you most proud of?

What I am most proud of is that I managed to stop drinking alcohol at the age of twenty two, never touched another drop.

That resulted in the end of several generations of alcohol abuse, not only did it better my life but it improved the lives of those around me because I became a role model of accomplishment. I will state as fact that most of the other things I am proud of in my life probably wouldn't have happened if I hadn't stopped drinking.
Coming from a family of alcoholics previous to you and growing up in that environment, you truly have something to be proud of breaking the cycle

I've watched those PIT manoeuvers many times on Youtbe carried out by the US plice.... it's an astonishing , and brave thing to do.... and altho' the UK police have indeed carried out PIT manoeuvers, they only do it fractionally compared to the US because our roads are very narrow generally speaking, just enough space for 2 way cars, so the likelihood of killing innocent people use the PIT would be very high...
Holly, it becomes more dangerous as the speed increases. I have seen vehicles flipped doing this maneuver. It’s usually more dangerous to the driver being pursued and any passengers in the vehicle. I detest having to damage my vehicle. We have connections to body shops around the state. If our vehicle only requires pulling the dent and repainting the fender and/or door, they will generally fit us in and do the job sometimes in less than a week, depending on the amount of damage.

There are restrictions when and where we can and can not use it. Public safety is always considered first.

I don't smoke!
I am living and in good health well into my 70's! My parents and older sister (4 years) are gone now. My sister died over 4 years ago. I think the primary reason they are all gone and have been for sometime, is because the all SMOKED! I do not! Like it or not smoking, in time, ruins your health. We all know a few who seem to have survived to be real old as smokers, but they are far and few of them. It is not a risk I was welling to take.

Now many other things factor into all of this, but most all of the people I know who have been smokers are either gone or in very poor health. The few that I know that are elderly that never smoked, are apparently in good health for their ages. Nothing is 100% but by living this long, I can say that it is obvious to me that smoking will likely kill you. Like we did not already know this...but it is amazing to me how many will try to explain this away...the joke is going to be on them, I am sorry to say!

I know , I've watched so many of these chases in the US on Youtube...

I never gave in to the dark forces of depression.
me neither.. and I'm presuming you had a life like me where it would have been not unexpected for a depression to descend..... 🤗

I never did..thank God... not saying anyone who did had any choice in the matter... but I was determinded to do whatever I coul to prevent the Black dog sitting on my shoulders.. I saw how it destroyed my mothers' life...

This is just so confusing , someone started a second thread about the exact same topic.... when there was already a thread running for the last 2 years.. and now people are getting confused as to what one they've posted on.. and looking for their lasts posts

The other thing I'm proud of is learning a lot more about Technology since the X left...

he was the one who sorted everything technical in the house from the Computers to the remote controlled items to the car electrics etc.....I didn't know how to any of it.. but since he's been gone I've taught myself a lot !

I did not have a very happy childhood therefore, when we decided to have a child, we wanted to make sure to give her all the love and tools she needed to be happy and successful in her life.
We are very proud of her. She became a teacher and was mentioned in her town newspaper as well as on the local TV station as one of the best teachers in the area. She also ranked 6th as best teacher in her field in the State of Florida. Away from her successful career, she is a devoted and caring mother to her two children and a great wife to her husband. She lives a full active and interesting life.
I am pleased that she achieved her goals and that she is happy.

Well done. (y)
Myself... I'm more inclined to lean toward a death penalty (provided it happens quick). Or, there is always a second option. (snip, snip)

I know what this is. It’s an emasculator that’s used to castrate animals. I never used one, but my dad did when he did the pigs for his friend. They were both career Army guys that hung together. The rubber band emasculator isn’t as painful 😓 as the one that cuts.
Each time I watched dad snip the testicles, I heard a crunch and had to cross my legs.

I see this is an old revived 2023 thread.

As someone with a significant list of impressive accomplishments, I have no interest in exposing many of them to the general public that would otherwise affect the way others treat me on a community web board like this. In other words, I prefer anonymity.
I agree, but for a different reason. My religion doesn’t allow us to share our proudness. It’s fine to be proud of myself, but not to talk about it or spread it around. With pride being one of the seven deadly sins, in fact it’s number one, I try hard to hold to it.

I taught forty years and had many kids and parents show me appreciation in hundreds of ways. I had a former student see me one day in a hospital and tell me I saved her life. She told me many years ago (she was 12) that her mom's boyfriend would not leave her alone. I immediately made the call and they came right away. I never saw her again until that day in the hospital (she was a nurse and about 27 or so.

All four of my kids are good people and kind. Their moms (both ex wives) call me and we are still friends. I've had a great life. If I could quit leaking (incontinence) it would STILL be very great. But its interesting this word pride or proud. My first wife used to tell me all the time to be proud of my self when were in college. Then one day I got a fortune cookie that had this fortune. Pride breeds calamity, humility reaps its reward. I still have it somewhere and used to tease her with it. I like the positive stories here......Saving children from pedophiles ranks up there.

Saving children from paedophiles is definitely something to be proud of... ..and I bet you were delighted to see how that little girl had turned into a successful caring member of society...as an adult

The funny thing is she wrote a paper for her 6th grade teacher about me. The teacher asked them to write about a person they respect. I still have the paper. . He name was Della Dubette. The day I saw her she said that and was gone. I love seeing many of my former students in successful careers. It is such a great feeling know they did well..
