Another phone call just now

Me: Hello.
Pc: Hello John, how are you doing today?

Me: Fine. You?
Pc: Fine too, John, thanks. I'm just calling to tell you I've sent out 3 more disclosures and more of the information you've requested.

Me: Great. Did you include the check?
Pc: .................. long silence............... Oh, John, I think I've called the wrong number!

Me: Okay .... (end of call).

My husband made the mistake of answering a call that he thought was from a doctors office. He said hold for a second and I will connect you with my LEGAL partner that handles such business.

They were sending us affidavits that they said I would find important to a pending court case.

I asked if they were sending my retainer fee of $2500.

He asked for what. I said to represent them in federal court. I would ask for an additional $250K when a court date was set.

He hung up so I guess he wasn't amused. I don't think I fooled him, he just knew he wasn't going to scam us.

I received one once, saying that my STUDENT loan was in the rears. [Threats] of what if, if I did not make it whole ... immediately . @ one point I was told it could result in an agent showing up at my door. I said well, now's fine I'm just sttiin' here drinkin' whiskey/ cleanin' my guns.

They hung up , don't know what happened?

I love that funny little sound my phone makes when I block a phone number, and I block a lot of them because I made the mistake of giving my phone number to a scammer. Worse I knew it was a scam,but curiosity got the better of me.

We are now getting a pop up on our phone “ suspicious caller “ when a scammer is calling

You should have had a little chat with the caller. But you didn't and now you were left wondering about the call for the rest of your life.

I don't have a land line and I haven't answered a call on my cell phone in years unless my Contact name pops up. If it is important they can leave a message.

I always say if they want to really speak to me bad enough ~ they will call back …we have a landline only because it came as part of of internet package

Things are getting so sophisticated and so scary that no good can come of it.

Lately, I’ve gotten more suspicious texts and fewer calls.

We generally just ignore unknown numbers. Recently there was one and our system said there was a message, except we couldn’t see it. It seems our Telecom now leaves a transcript and it doesn’t show up immediately. This was an important call that we almost didn’t get. I hate businesses that don’t display their name.

My smartphone tells me possible scam call. LOL!

My father used to love to screw with scammers when they called the house. It was hilarious listening to him. My mom bout spit her coffee across the living room one night.

My husband gives them a hard time as well …he had a call while travling to the city recently ….he's got a button on his heading aids to answer a phone call ….anyway it was apprently about buying solar panels .. ( his phone showed suspicious number calling)

After the scammer rattled off about what he was attempting to scam us about

Hubs started telling the scammer , he is 99 years old …and lives in a nursing home so why in the world would he want solar panels …..and while there is a legitimate scheme in Aust to get a so called rebate on installing panels ..the oblivious scammers and like leaches and jump onto what they can turn into scam ….

This male said he was calling from Melbourne Victoria ( Australia ) but the number came up as a 07 area code
( Queensland ) ..so hubs said ~ oh tell me what the weathers like in ~ Melbourne today, scammer answered 78f = 26c degrees …….Think Melbourne was about 8c = 46 f that day ..it’s winter in Australia

Australia is metric so we go by ….Celsius…… for weather not Fahrenheit

If I happen to get a call , I tell them I might be …old but I’m not silly enough as yet ~ to fall for their scams

I usually don't answer calls unless I know the number but, recently a relative has been in hospital so, I've taken a couple of calls which sounded like a call centre, apparently they have a job for me and needed me to add their number to WhatsApp. A job I don't plan on ever working again

what i hate is when I get a transcript of a message the caller has left and the transcript bears little resmblance to what was actually said...so if I was deaf and relying on the transcript because I couldn't hear the message ... I'd be in big trouble..

Dear Mr. Nathan, My hubs would have sent it years ago, but you never sent the $10K money order he requested. Since those days he has graduated from prince to king, so unfortunately the amount needed up front has doubled and your Nigerian windfall has been cut in half due to market devaluation and will be held in escrow for 50 years.
