Classic album covers over the years

This one's not as well known as the traditional Quadrophenia cover (which I personally think is kind of boring)—and in fact isn't well known in general—but I love it. It encapsulates so much of what the story is about. And perhaps because I identify so much with Jimmy.

I don’t like any of that hippy crap, but when the 80’s got here, real music came back. I have some albums, but not all of the songs on an album are likable. Kiss was a good group, but they didn’t need the makeup. That had to take awhile to put on. I liked the song “Beth.”
I also saw an album cover from Janis Joplin. I like the songs “Cry, Baby” and “Piece of My Heart.”

Good variety here.

I have listed, 198 vinyl albums with original album covers collecting dust, almost all Classic Rock AOR from the late 1960s thru mid 1990s and dominantly, much hard rock. The SFBA was the center of that universe and since most groups toured here, I also experienced much of that music live at concerts. After that, as the digital age arose, I stopped purchasing albums and on FM radio, stopped following any newer music and or genres. Of those listed by other members, I only have Cream's Disraeli Gears and that King Crimson album haha. The Cream album shown is a newer version, only somewhat similar to the original. I even have such early AOR gems as Insideoutside by Blue Cheer.

The vinyl records themselves are in various states of use with some a bit scratched. Probably worth some modest $$$ but not enough for me to bother with any time soon. I do still own a high end turntable but haven't even turned in on within a decade. At some point had been playing numbers of records then recording with Audacity software from the analog outputs into .mov files that were then translated into mp3 files. For other songs, have played the Youtube albums then recorded likewise from the analog outputs. I've never illegally recorded anything digitally as so many others were doing, and some piracy oriented still do.

After spending the last 4 days quietly at home, this Wednesday late afternoon will be driving about 7 miles away to a free outdoor street concert with a top Classic Rock cover band. So yeah...2muchfun for an old guy.
