Would you Continuously Cruise if you had plenty of Cash? Italy - Mediterranean are very popular.

Hubby and I did more than our fair share of cruising over the past twenty years. Not just cruising but also coach trips in Australia and a couple of tours making short jumps in a prop jet small plane.

If I go anywhere ever again it will be on a plane to southern UK with my daughter. We'll hire a car and wander about until we have had enough.

I got a lot of traveling done during 5 years in the Navy. Join the Navy, see the world. Truer words were never spoken. As for the tourist cruise thing, didn’t care for it. Seems like every stop was a jewelry store and the inevitable guided bus tour. I preferred being behind the wheel, armed with the usual guide and tour books, or travel by train, packing the same literature. While stationed in Spain I of course saw quite a bit of Spain, Gibralter, and Morocco. Caught a plane to Norway, and when my tour was up drove from Spain to Istanbul. Aboard ship it was Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, and numerous visits to Hawaii.

Some of the Draw is Sun, Water, Entertainment and of course The various doors of interest that the Ship contains.
Our Kids love going, one a year, takin pictures and sight-seeing. Youth, Entertainment and Wine also make life interesting for them. TWTS
I did one but the constant motion, I never got completely relaxed with the constant motion. Some hate flying too! I just need to stop the motion when I sleep. Is that so much to ask em. haha

I have been on 48 cruises, and the longest was 32 days from Buenos Aires to LA. Both my wife and I agreed that it was too long a cruise for us.
We enjoyed the cruise and the port experiences along the way, but it was just too long. Our preference is for 14 day or so cruises.

No, I would not. I love container gardening, DIY and living the creative life too much. My extensive creative supplies and tools prove it. 😄
I have watched a few vids about retirees living on cruise ships. One couple paid an unbelievable amount to buy a cabin plus they are paying an amount per month too. For $100,000 AND an additional $3,500 per month. 😱 The cruise ship program did not even allow them to choose from the available cabins. They did not know what cabin they would have until they boarded after their purchase.

The cabin was not that great either. It was not a suite and it had no balcony. It also had 2 bunk beds attached to the wall and they could be folded up against the wall. I was shocked at what they didn't get for that money! But, their money, though. 🫤

Look for yourself. Enjoy!

Cruise ships have never appealed to me but, I know people who love going on cruises. Actually one used to go on two cruises a year, she now has health problems and really misses her travels. When I speak to her, I can understand why she loved it so much, she made lots of friends and has certainly seen more of the World than most people.

$3500/month for two people is peanuts. The $100K initial outlay amortizes out to $555 per month, so let's say $4200/month or $70 dollars a day per person. That includes their room, meals and circumnavigating the globe to visit various ports every three and a half years.

I'd say they got a massive bargain, assuming the deal holds for the full 15 years, and it's something they want to do.

To be clear, they have a typical exterior room with a large window, king size bed (typical for cruise ships), a fair amount of closet space, bathroom with shower, and small fridge. The two Murphy beds were being removed at their request.

If all I wanted to do in life is see the inside of various cruise ships then this answer is yes. If I wanted to see more of the world I would ditch the cruise ships.

Being trapped on a ship for a year? Not my idea of fun.

One thing I have learned over the years is that the ocean looks much the same in the middle as it does at the edges, I'd rather watch it from the the land at the edge.

Apart from sailing half way across the planet in 1968 I have done two cruises, the first for my kid's 30th birthday the other, one Christmas when everybody I knew went away. Not a big fan but I enjoyed them more than I thought I would.
