I believe they have left the forum, although I didn't encourage it. I do think it is important to spend some time in a forum and learn various people's personalities before jumping in with both feet. But that's just them. I will say I thought their intros were some of the funniest I've seen.

Come to think of it, I don't really know. It was Luce who reached out to me, and it was not until he joined the forum that he told us Hamish was his twin. I've never seen a reference to it on the political forum. I guess I'm guilty of taking people at face value. It blew up in my face, but I've made mistakes before. Life goes on!

That's interesting, it didn't sound very plausible tbh but you never know, I guess anything is possible. I thought the intros were very funny too :)

None of us are responsible for what someone else posts, it's just one of those things. 🤷‍♀️
 
I forced myself to stay out of this thread yesterday... and was fully expecting it to be gone by morning. But here we are, and I can only keep quiet for so long. Anyhow, I feel that we've been nasty-punked big-time. I do not believe this is two different people... and twins?! Really? :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I fully support our @seadoug and I'm pretty furious at what I *think* happened here. I smell dung :poop: with this new member (or two, but I don't think that's the case.) 🤬

However, I don't live there... that's how easy it is to say we live somewhere, what our gender is, whether or not we have identical siblings, etc. etc. We can say anything... it's up to the reader to believe or not believe.

My name is not Holly.. Hollydolly.. is just my forum name and has been for 12 years here ... people are always shocked to learn that fact.....whch I always think is funny...

Since I see the thread is continuing I will say that they are two very separate entities in the political forum that have separate avatars and profiles. Very few members discuss anything personal in that forum so who am I to say they aren't brothers or twins? I don't think we were being "punked".

Well, I don't think you made a mistake. You acted in good faith. If the two guys are really one guy or just trying to mess around with us, they are the ones who made the mistake. If they are who they claim to be, then no mistakes were made at all.

Also, I didn't think they were dissing you, I thought they were joking around - a bit strongly and strangely though.

I'm still in touch with Luce in the other forum and although I wish he would give it another shot I don't think he sees SF as a good fit. I don't think he and Hamish will return but I would be pleasantly surprised if they did.

They certainly gave us a lot to talk about. Every now and then a little "drama" wakes us up! :ROFLMAO:
 
Entering a new forum is like your first days at a new job or your first day at a new school. You come in a bit quietly, scout out the atmosphere, put out a feeler or two. Then you join in the conversation, working up to it. After you've sussed out the vibe, then you start making yourself known and find your place in the crowd.

Coming in with all guns a-blastin' away seldom gets you warmly welcomed.

It's exactly the same in a pub... You come quietly a few times have a drink see who is who, get the feel of the atmosphere , see who are the loud ones, see who are the jokers.. who the drunks' are, the troublemakers .. see if theres anything that makes you uncomfortable.. before you start making your presence known, and be accepted by the regulars... ..

Go in the first day.. loud, attention seeking.. and making caustic remarks in a supposed joking manner about one of the regulars... then you're not ever going to be welcome there..
