And, they were gorgious, Tish, absolutely gorgious.@timoc Absolutely love Maltesers.
Timmy, lad, you are never too old for a pet. And, cats are easy due to their independent nature. Now, I am about 5 yrs older than you and if you could have witnessed what I had to handle last night, a cat would be a walk in the park. This huge dog I had with me as a try-out is one of those big lugs who just wants to be loved constantly. What a handful when I had to take him out. But, in a day or so, we'll be trying out a much smaller dog who is more mature. Hopefully that one will work out.Good morning all.
Yesterday afternoon I found a small kitten tight in a corner by my back door. She looked terrified of something and was soaking wet, so, speaking to her quietly I picked her up and took her inside. I found a warm towel and put her in it to dry. I kept talking to the little mite for a while, then I put a saucer with some milk infront of her. She looked at the saucer nervously, then took a little lick, then again and again. I refilled the saucer and she drank that milk too.
After a little while her fur dried and fluffed up and she looked somewhat bigger.
She had no collar or identification so I called her 'Titch'.
As much as I'd like a pet about the house, I'm far to old to have one because I know I'm past all that, so, I rang the lovely lady across the road for advice. She said that she would ask around on the grapevine.
Last night there was a ringing of my front door bell, it was the lovely lady, with another young lady and two small girls.
"Have you come about the pussy-cat", I asked, then invited them in?
One of the little girls took 'Titch' out of the towel and hugged her up to her face and the other girl did too.
My friend from over the road and the other lady were talking and talking, much of which I never heard (some ladies do talk quickly), anyway, I made a pot of tea and gave them all a cup.
More than an hour had passed but it all seemed like 5 minutes, with 4 females all talking at once and now the kitty was joining in with them, well, no disrespect, but when they left I noticed how quiet the house was again.
Have a happy day lovely people.![]()
