How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2025....

Had wonderful day yesterday with son/grandson. We stayed in my neighborhood, played in MY park (it's mine cause I met it at four years old) Three generations played in this neighborhood park/playground. I met several of my neighbors there, and we indulged in important gossip. Who is moving? Where? Why? How much? People I have known for most of my life. One is moving around the corner, at my playground. The other, Independent Living near her son after long hospital stay.

Woke up with great deal of pain in left foot. Used too many painkillers for my state of mind, but it did the trick, pain wise. Much less.

Tomorrow, appt. with surgeon to discuss options, if there are any.

Today, hanging with cats, chores, books, you guys.

8:40am PDT Sunday 9/21/2025, last day of summer 2025. Yesterday afternoon, never reached the finish line. Must be getting old, indeed. Got to the packed outdoor street fair grassy park venue a bit late about 12:30pm and left a bit early at 5:45pm with little internal feeling left to move and sleepy. Lots of people dancing up in front of the stage as is typical for such outdoor events, but a bit too crowded for me that plied the crowd outskirts. The vast majority of people attending outdoor music events tend to bring lawn chairs to sit/eat/drink at or just sit atop grass, so only ever just watch musicians play.

Was asleep by 9pm and managed over 8 hours sleep, the most in a couple weeks, so don't feel too worn for all yesterday. Today will enjoy 2 rock cover bands from noon to about 3:30pm. Weather forecast is a wee warmer with high temps 82F. Will miss most the SF 49ers versus AZgame on TV at 1:25pm today, so may just catch a bit of the 4th quarter.

Somehow picked up some bedbug bites from somewhere this August but didn't know if that was from sleeping upstairs in a bedroom or downstairs on a fold-away couch. Had not stayed in any lodging but was after a backpacking trip so may have been where they existed at a human used campsite? That stopped quickly, that was probably because they were in the dormant egg phase. Then a month ago a few more bites that also went away.

Thus at Home Depot, bought some bug glue detectors and began sleeping only downstairs that was easy given I was also dealing with COVID-19. The detectors had been bug free for weeks, but a couple days ago when some eggs probably hatched and new blood suckers began moving around, they put 4 itchy bites on the back of one knee. Well finally got one of them in the downstairs detector next to my fold-away couch so know it is downstairs where I have to get rid of them as I suspected.

So tomorrow will open up the foldaway, remove all the linens/blankets into a hot wash/dry. Will park my car out in the sun and toss in an old sleeping bag I'd been using downstairs as a blanket. Will buy a Home Depot, 14oz bottle of eco-logic for $11, then treat the fold-away couch. And will only sleep upstairs over the next couple months. Itch is easy to deal with by simply using my hair blow drier on the few skin bites that I also use whenever I get a bit of poison oak on skin. That will last several hours itch free.

Left: Breakfast this morning: oats 1:30 minutes microwaved, often with added fiber and cacao; 1/2 avocado; a small smoked pork chop;
and mocha flavored hot milk. Right: Stay where you are, curious coyote, and don't dare to jump over our fence again to visit us.

We used to go hiking down to the trees in the center of the picture; shall we try it one more time?

I truly love hiking and enjoying nature at sunrise, especially when accompanied by my pups. It's so refreshing and relaxing.

Tomorrow is Autumn Equinox, and apparently the sun rises due East. Many streets run north/south and east/west. So, I expect the sun to rise
tomorrow exactly aligned with our street to the East. It’s also the beginning of the Fall Season.

To recap today's hunt: Bulls bugling in the dark, herding their cows across the river from the pasture and into the bedding area. So animals all around me all morning, but I could only see 2 of them, a big cow, and a yearling cow. Bulls would respond to calls but not move.

We're expected to get a bit cooler overnight so I'm hoping that and time trigger rutting behavior in earnest for tomorrow's hunt. The guy that ruined last Sunday's hunt brought his friend today who had never been there before and they posted up about 300yds n of me. Bringing guys in ALWAYS ruins it. They can't keep their mouths shut so soon enough you're completely overrun. I need to keep doing this for another decade at least so I'm a bit chaffed atm.

I know my camo patterns clash, I'm right in the middle of changing all my gear over to USGI multi-cam pattern.

On the left you can see the grunt tube used to amplify mouth calls, which is a key element in elk hunting. My tether secures me to the tree so one can lean out off the stand to look or take a shot and of course if lose my balance or fall asleep it'll keep me safe. And on the right my bow w an arrow nocked.

Nope, apparently not ancient history..lol... filming going on as we speak. ..
Wasn’t there a big flap about who was going to play Snape? Or was that just a publicity stunt ? Personally I would not want to try to take up any role that has starred Alan Rickman… Those are big shoes to fill.

Church this AM then picked up a submarine sandwich, chips and a soft drink at a local deli. Enjoying the breeze in the yard now.

Starting to plan for a visit to my daughter’s mid-October to hopefully catch some of the autumn colors in the N GA mountains and catch up with her and the grand girls.

Y’all have a good day!

I absolutely would have no clue tbh CS..

The thing is HP is filmed in a fim studio completely seperate from the TV and film studios which are used for Films like James Bond etc.... if it had been filmed in the studios where my X and I both worked/work, insider info would be easy to come by , but as its filmed in what was a very small independent studio up until relatively recently when it was given a major multi million £££ facellift... I don't know anyone who works or worked there..

Ironically before I moved to this house .. my previous house was just a 10 minutes walk from the HP studios... but that was long before Harry Potter days

Nope, apparently not ancient history..lol... filming going on as we speak. I live just a few miles in the same county ..from the HP studios... one of the Main cast members was my father's neighbour .. and lived here in our market town until relatively recently

Inidentally I have never read an HP book nor seen any films... .. not my cuppa tea....
I LOVED Harry Potter books!!!! All of them! Great story! 1758478289666.gif

I also enjoyed the movies, but.....
Movies have limited time constraints, where books don't. So movies tend to skip over some parts of the story. 🙁

the fact that I live near the HP studios.. and have one the major character living right here until recently.. ( grew up here).. usually astonishes people when I tell them I have no interest in the films or books... but it's just not my cuppa tea... might be different if I was 20... but aside from visiting Plaform 9 where the Hogart express departs at London Kings Cross station... ( and I only visited because I was at the station on a normal day travelling in and out of the city)... I have never had any interest in HP

This is exciting for me to see!!!

Glad to read that you had such a wonderful day, but not about the pain. I hope the options are feasible and will work well.

@packleader My son is an avocado fanatic. He gets them every week and always gets one for me. I discovered that I like them best stuffed with egg salad. The first time I made it for my son, he lost his mind and even called his honorary son, who is an avocado efficianado too. I just had one for dinner last night. Also, my son said he saw a hack by a lady who's video proved her point. Cut an avocado and leave it in a closed container with cut up red onion to make the avocado last longer. Hers stayed fresh for 7 days.

Glorious sunny day today....🌞🌞 it's 11.30am.... I've just spent 2 hours deep cleaning the house. It's only had a lick and a promise for the last 2 months since the accident... so this morning I got cleaning deep down into bathrooms.. and kitchen, and all the rooms tbh.. except the spare room

I've even cleaned all the mirrored wardrobe doors. ..and washed all the floors...

My arm will be killing me later.. I know this.. but I couldn't not do it any longer..

I'm just having a cuppa tea now.. and I might go out in little while.. I'll see how I feel.. the arm might be too sore to drive...

have the best day you can s'fers... 🌸 🌸

I need to try that avocado hack!

Morning folks....HollyDolly hope you don't have too much
pain from that cleaning episode, I do the same as you sometimes.....
Okay, here goes, I had a "wild" hallucination this morning
when waking at 5am today, my eyes were wide open my head
turned to the left, and there sitting on the pillow, was my cat
the late "PRINCESS"!!!! I mean she looked so real it took breath
out of my lungs, I started to reach to her, then her paw "blocked" my hand, then again i started to reach and was
thinking okay I guess I died overnite, and huh no pain or
anything, cool, then looked back and she was still on the
pillow, then a second later I reached for her and she was gone@!!!!!! wowza, that was absolutely amazing!!!!

That's a regret of leaving my birth place. The generational memories for my children and grandchildren.
But, that's what happens when you are born with wanderlust. 😊
I'm happy you seem to be feeling better Pepper. 🤗

Oh no. I've not had bed bugs but I hear it's a real pain in the neck. Hope you are able to eradicate them soon. Between that and Covid 19 you need a break! 🤗

I love a pork chop for breakfast! I meant to comment on your last photo that he is a pretty coyote. Sometimes they're scraggly.

Today, we are going to daughter's for dinner. She is making Korean bulgogi. Her corgi, Abbi will be there (she and ex share the dog's care). Should be a very nice visit.
Reminds me, my husband asked me to buy some Korean flavored Spam to try. He was in Korea and should know it's not anywhere near. 😁 Hope you had a nice time!
