Folks who become morbidly obese should practice that instead of waiting for the piano movers to get youTen pounds coming your way.:lofl:
I don't really have much of a weight problem. Whenever I get a few extra pounds ( as now) I try to fix it before it becomes a
problem.
What I do Holly, is to type into Senior Forums search a thread title guess to see if there's anything relevent. That it's way out of date doesn't make it irrelevent.Good grief... this thread is 11 years out of date..you could be forgiven for starting a new one !

Yes, I lost 40 pounds in just a few months by discontinuing my indulgence in alcoholic beverages. I did not modify my diet or lifestyle in any other way. I did also quit using table salt as well. This effort wasn't specifically for weight loss, but because my blood pressure was dangerously high.On the subject of weight loss, has anyone ever given up totally on alcohol and lost a substantial amount of weight as a result?
How the weight fell off me once I was on the wagon.
Given up totally??? Why start ? I've never had a drink (of alcohol) in my entire life. Was active in sports and traveled the URC sprint car circuit with a friend and driver in the 80's. Not exactly a wall flower but never found the need for booze and its potential problems. What I do Holly, is to type into Senior Forums search a thread title guess to see if there's anything relevent. Compliments to you, truth be told I probably gave into perceived peer pressure. Alcohol and nicotine were the legal fixes available and most indulged. How I managed to is something I have often puzzled on. Most penniless students somehow find enough money to drink themselves into a morning hangover. The tobacco I managed to quit round about my early twenties, but the grog, what a social gambit that was!Given up totally??? Why start ? I've never had a drink (of alcohol) in my entire life. I've made it to my early 90's and should be able to make it to the finish without it.
I overcame my weight problem, too.
I got a divorce.
OH! *ba-doom*
But seriously, ladies and germs ... I'm getting quite a little Pooh belly going on here, something I never encountered before. I'm sure it's because I'm spending 7/8 of my day sitting in front of the computer.
I'm getting Secretary Spread.
I don't eat much, but even with that if I don't start making time to at least go for daily walks I'm going to be in trouble soon.
Not trying to be mean, but that's just another gimmicky diet, like the cabbage diet. Eat normal, just eat smaller portions. Reducing sugar, salt and fat, without torturing your self.I've been noticing lately the latest weight-loss recipe which seems everyone is using, even actors like Oprah Winfrey. It's called the Himalayan Pink Salt diet which you mix with Apple Cider Vinegar, Lemon Juice and Baking soda and guarantees you can
lose pounds in a matter of weeks. They never tell you the exact quantities and seem to say the same things, I was wondering
if it is AI generated. Has anyone tried this diet and tell us if you have lost a great amount of weight, pictures, before and after if
you have any.
Thanks Nathan. I'm not interested in losing weight, although a couple of pounds here and there would be okay. It's just that I keep seeing people's testaments that they have had considerable weight loss using this method.
