the sci-fi channel does a marathon all day today into tomorrow. i think i was probably about 12 when it was one of the most popular shows on TV. my dad didn't care for TZ... and it was his TV after all (not like today, huh?). i would walk 4 houses up the street to watch with my best friend. there were many times when i seem to recall us clinging to each other in fear. of course, it was DARK for that loonnngggg walk home & it often ended in a sprint!

if you watch the marathon or just watched the show back in the 60's... any favorites?

Just about ALL of them were my favorites. I have every single episode on DVD - including one season where they were 1-hr. episodes. Many big stars got their big break on that show & up & coming actors and writers quickly learned what being on it would do for their careers. A book that was included with Season 1 had the show's history, Rod Serling's career from the start, etc.

the guy who played Officer Paul ??? in "The Green Mile" was in one. i think he looked just as old back in the 60's as he did in 1999.

the episode about little men from outer space with Agnes Morehead had me RUNNING all the way home.

It's still in re-runs here on Sunday nights and I usually watch it.

One of my favorite episodes is "Eye of the Beholder." Doctors and nurses are attempting to fix a woman's deformity which has made her an outsider in society. Her face is bandaged, and not seen until the end when the bandages are removed. She is beautiful, but the doctors and nurses are horrified that there was "no change," after her surgery. At that point, we see that all the doctors and nurses have ["normal"] pig-like faces. So beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder.

The Long Morrow with Robert Lansing and Mariette Hartley, was quite sad at the end.

Time Enough at Last--If this is the one with the library and all the books all over the place, but then his glasses shatter, WOW.
I cannot tell just from titles what the shows were, that would help. I loved a lot of them.
And it was so prescient. I remember an episode that took place in a darkened apartment, with people talking about being unable to go outside bc it was too hot.

This is probably my wife's favorite, as she is an avid book reader.
