For the unvaccinated for covid 19. A short question.

Last year, I wanted to get my high dose flu shot and the first Shingles vaccine at the same time. My pharmacist talked me out of getting these two vaccines together. He said that it’s best to get the shingles vaccine as the only vaccine that day. After that, he wanted me to wait two weeks before getting the flu shot and then two months to get the second shingles vaccine.

Anyone else have this recommended?

Yes. Last year I asked to get covid, flu and shingles at same time, was refused. Got covid and flu than a couple weeks later the first injection for shingles, then a couple of months later for the second shingles shot.

I will say the shingles vaccine is the only time I have ever been bothered by a shot, I didn't feel well for a couple of days. Yet I'm still glad I got it, I have been bothered by rash and ocassional hives outbreaks since I was a kid and since the shingles shot I havent had one outbreak. (Knocking on wood)

I didn't try to get anything else at the same time, because I already believe in letting my body deal with one thing at a time. I do remeber that the pharmacy was very strict about when I should return for the follow up vaccine.

Yes standard recomendation in Australia to have shingles vaccine on its own. And if one is having 2 vaccines but not at same time, usual to have a week or 2 between them.

And Shingrix is a 2 dose course - 2 doses with minimum 2 month gap between them

So the recomendation you were given is correct.

I didn't feel good after the shingles one either.

My daughter never got the vaccine, she was and is still completely convinced it was all a sham.. and she was having none of it. She never got Covid.. and she never was castigated by anyone for not having the vaccine...

I ignored the vaccine myself for the first year.. then I got Covid, and for a few days I thought I was dying tbh.. so that changed my mind I didn't want to risk getting that again..so I had the vaccine, then I had the follow up one.. and that was me I had no more...and I don't intend having any more
I got Covid before the vaccine came out. I then gave it to my husband. I was a zombie for about a week and a half, I was so lethargic. When the vaccine came out, both myself and my husband got the vaccine and the boosters. I had two brothers that were adamant about not getting the vaccine. They both died of Covid a month apart. Would they have survived it had they had the shot? We'll never know.

The only vaccine I was ever questioned about was why did I never have the polio vaccine. Well, by the time it had come out, as a nursing student, and been exposed to polio umpteen times, the doctors felt I had a natural immunity to it. So, I guess they were right. My 3 siblings had it, as did my son and all the other kids in our extended family.

Your 3 siblings and son all had polio, or had the polio vaccine?

My mom got shingles so I know. That's why I got vaccinated.
I knew a lot of people who had shingles, all of whom had much higher pain thresholds than mine, but they were all pretty much flattened by it. One had shingles in his brain — who knew that was even possible? — he was hospitalized for over a month and needed to go to rehab, as well.

The first shingles shot hit me very hard, but not nearly as hard as shingles would have.

My mom had nerve damage from it. I just can't remember where for sure.

If the doc's office has them when I go the 30th I'll be getting my Covid vax. I wish I didn't have to but because of my COPD it's more of a safety issue for me. I've already been masked up and when the weather cools down I'll put my thicker mask on. It's all I can do. I'll still get it but at least it won't be as bad.

You almost certainly did - even if you don't remember or had no symptoms. As CP was endemic back then.
A blood test would show for certain - but you don't need to do that, vaccine is recomended without serology proof.
I repeat: I have never had chicken pox. Period. The only way I could have got infected was by caring for my mother's shingles (putting lotion on it) when I was eight.
