Very little ever happens here, so when something does, people turn out to see what it's all about. My house is fairly soundproof although occasionally we hear helicopters going to / from the oil rigs. This morning I heard a helicopter obviously flying lower than usual so I looked outside and there was an air ambulance helicopter moving slowly over my neighbours house. It eventually landed on the village playing field, watched by most of the village.
Not sure what the emergency was, but two ordinary ambulances also appeared. I hope that nobody has been taken seriously ill or injured, but it was obviously enough to require the air ambulance.
Less frequently, we see RAF jets flying low over the nearby fields and once a Hercules transport plane flew very low over the length of the village main street before climbing. It was surprisingly quiet.
That's the excitement over for another while. As I said, very little ever happens here.
