Where Do You Hail From

Hmmm… I have four place names in mind, but I won’t mention them here -- that’s your prerogative. Your info to own.
Now I look again, I can't help wondering if there is a clue in your third line. See what I mean -- look closely at each word.
There is indeed all the answers there within - as a fellow 'U.K.'-er, you'll be familiar with the Red Rose, of Brigantes background and pagan past - (pre Roman Mamucium)
I hail from, and reside in the olde Ringway parish which is now the site of the Aviation area of business of a World-wide gateway ;)

There are answers to many things in these threads and on this site. I would say most can't see, or won't look. You are quite intriguing.

Have you just mentioned Manchester Airport to me? Hringhæg.

Anyway, on a side note, I first went to Manchester Airport when I was 10. As for Manchester itself. First went there when I was 18. Just jumped in my car and went looking for some clothes -- something a bit different. Some shopkeepers in the centre of Manchester were fascinated with my hairstyle at the time. I had a quiff and a DA. One shopkeeper said to me, "How have you managed to get your hair to go in two different directions?" Homage to my dad who had the same when he was 18. My dad was already into wearing suits at that age.

Before I went to Manchester I had a look of a possible route on a map, then I thought, "What on earth is a Mancunian Way!?" Obviously, my curiosity got the better of me at the time, as it often does, and I had to research it.

You have Lancashire roots? -- War of the Roses. The red one, obviously.

As for the Brigantes -- I’m a bit more southern than you (not too southern, I hope). I’ve often used a forum name of Mercia, And even MerciaAnglii

Currently in Forida, by way of Arkansas, California, New Jersey, Vermont, and NYC.
Speaking of Mexico... did you happen to make it to La Bufadora? (the blowhole)

A marine geyser located on the Punta Banda Peninsula below Ensenada, Mexico. It is considered one of the largest blowholes in North America, famous for shooting seawater high into the air.
Over here in Australia, we have the Kiama Blowhole. A natural attraction located in Kiama, New South Wales. It features a
30 meters waterspout caused by crashing waves into a volcanic water cavern, making it one of the largest blowholes in the world.

I guess the name gives it away for me. I've always lived in Texas (currently "Central Texas)" north of Austin. I've been to most states in the Midwest and West on vacations, and traveled to Mexico many times (not anymore). I wanted to go to Michigan, but never made it there. Years ago, I had a pen-pal n Michigan, and I wrote her......(this was dumb)......"Do you ever get out and take a drive around the Great Lakes?" She wrote back, "I HAVE NO DESIRE TO TAKE A 5000 MILE DRIVE AROUND THE GREAT LAKES!!!"

I was born in the USA and have lived in three states and one foreign country (Turkiye). I've lived in Florida for 47 years.

I've traveled to 46 states, five continents and 24 countries.

As much as I long to travel a lot more, I just can't see my tired old bones taking those long flights in economy again (all I can afford) and then navigating over cobblestone streets. South and Central American countries are my best bet, fairly close.

Born & raised in southern California, have lived in Oregon, Missouri, Illinois, Virginia, now back in Missouri to stay.
Have been to Mexico, Canada, Germany and England. Visited all but the North Eastern Shore States above Washington DC.
My heart is home In Missouri.
We enjoy reading your facts about your state in the thread named "Good morning, day, afternoon evening, night, happy whatever etc."

If you ever get a chance, go to Michigan in the fall. I haven't been for years but when I did, I was in the Luddington area, and it was absolutely beautiful. I've been to San Antonio, Wichita Falls , and El Paso with the USAFR. It was okay but didn't see much there because I was in training. My husband loved Texas. He has worked all over the country with the national parks and Big Bend was his all-time favorite, He said it was beautiful.

Oh dear...

I'm in the Midwest USA and Ohio specifically. Been to several states and through some too. I've only been to one other country and that is Canada by Niagara falls. I recall how clean the streets were kept there!

Im from the Midwest USA too. Lived here all my life. I have visited a few other places.
When I was small I rode the train to Kansas to see a stepfather's parents. It was really flat.

The husband and I used to do antique shows in various states. Its been awhile.
I remember a big one in Brimfield Mass. Saw Plymouth rock. Ate at Lobster Hut.
Some in Pennsylvania and Vermont and New Hampshire.
And a big one in Kentucky.

Went to Canada to visit Niagra Falls. I agree the streets were really clean. Did you go to the museum to see the mummies.

I been to Florida kinda. Took a cruise out of Florida and visited Chicken Itza and Cozumel and sailed around Cuba.
Discovered Im not cruise material. I hate being in the sun. I dont gamble. And I dont swim. :D
The food was great. :D

Lived in Long Island, NY, Virginia, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Georgia. Couple of visits to Canada. European trips fell through.

Born in Los Angeles, grew up in a beach town, lived in Arizona, NewMexico, Colorado and Oklahoma. Then we moved to Canada 1969 and lived in the Yukon Territory, and a few places in BC. We love Canada and especially BC. Became Canadian citizens in 1975 that was as soon as we could legally. Best thing we ever did.
