What are your goals after retiring?

My goals include working with local/regional environmental groups (which has been my avocation for about 35 years). Also, to network with people who do various sorts of community work, not limited to environmental. And to become more active, once more, in non-fiction writing — which was for a stretch, about 20 years, my main money-earning work.

I've obtained it. A few years before I retired I amassed a huge collection of books and movies. I get up around 4 am, exercise, walking outside and watch international news then sit around in my boxer shorts all day and relax.

I've traveled all of my life and never lived anywhere for more than 3 or 4 years as an adult till I retired. I'm good with being lazy now.

Retirement doesn't sit easy with me. I remained at work for the first fifteen years of retirement age, but now the company insurers are frothing at the mouth that an eighty year old is still at work.
Each morning my wife and I share domestic chores, our's is a large house and keeping it clean is a daily task. Most days I will cook, that leaves my lady to indulge in her hobby of dressmaking. She is quite a talent as my collection of shirts, trousers and all are testament to.

Our social life still goes on, we are out to dances and various functions, all in the evenings. My free daytime is in the afternoon and often I will, weather permitting, go out in my 78 year old MG car. I like to dress the part too. Most days I still wear a collar and tie, or, if the sun has put in an appearance, I will wear one of the many Aloha shirts my wife has made for me.

Lately, I've been floundering from one day to the next and it is starting to wear on my psyche.
I relate a lot to post #9 and #12 summed up together as staying healthy and active, yet relaxed as well.

But, I had a very busy day yesterday that involved decision making, and other things to take care of (that got me out of the house) and I felt better at the end of the day than if I'd had little to do.

Last month and this month, I volunteered for a food distribution program for families in need, and plan to continue. It's just a once a month thing, but it brought a sense of fulfillment.

Long term goals and travel plans - no. Most of the fun of travel was sharing the experience, and I have no one in my life at this time to do that with.

Love it

My car is in my profile pic, 58 Chevrolet
My brother used to own a 1970 MG MGBGT, I always wanted that car but he would not sell it to me.

Your avatar is a tad small for my old eyes, is your car like this?

We don't go to many classic car shows, they are all about the
car, wheras we get our fun from enjoying the era, be that
the music, the cars and, of course, the style of clothes worn.

Yep, but my car is a 2dr Delray not the Impala.
I always said once it is on the road, I will not do car shows with it but drive it every where
