Gentle posts for gentle folks

Good afternoon.... Rocco not interested in walking very far so we've had a couple of short walks instead. He's now doing what he does best, sleeping! lol

My youngest son messaged me to ask if I could find some information for him. He knows I love researching etc. The only trouble is that I can sometimes get sidetracked and end up looking at all sort of things. But, I did get the information he wanted so that's the main thing, I think I'm entitled to digress a little. I come in handy for some things. ;)

I had a half decent sleep last night so woke up with a bit of energy and cleared a few things from my kitchen that needed carrying out to the dustbin. Also had a bag of books which I gave to son's partner this morning when she dropped Rocco off. She'll drop the books of at the charity shop at some point. Feels good to get a bit of de-cluttering done.

Time to get something to eat then join Rocco on the settee.

Hope you are all well and fabulous as @CallMeKate has said.

Hello friends

We're having that storm up here. I'm inland so the flooding along the coast doesn't affect me. I think New Jersey got the worst but it's quite windy and it's been raining most of yesterday, all night and it's still raining.

Kaila did you get any of that storm? I hope everyone's OK. I'm glad to see you're feeling better Kaila.πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

I think I'll make soup in the crock pot; beans, vegetables, some pasta, chicken broth.... you know... this and that. I have frozen kale, spinach too maybe.

Love to all... ❀️ πŸ₯°β€οΈ

Good Afternoon, Kaila and Friends. πŸ€— :coffee:πŸŽƒ

Took the day off from exercises and dog walks yesterday, to heal a bit, and am doing better today. Back on schedule. Thank you for kind thoughts expressed. β™₯️

@Kaila, good to hear you were doing a bit better yesterday and hoping that is continuing into today. Good thoughts. πŸ€—

@RadishRose, glad you're safe from the storm. Your soup sounds delish.

Wishing everyone a pleasant day. πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

So good to know you're feeling better @Medusa 🌹

That is interesting About the storm effecting your area,
@RadishRose

The stormy part of the storm isn't here.☺️

So far, it's gray and cloudy and breezy with some stronger wind gusts, but not a drop of rain. YET.πŸ˜‰

The coastline is near enough to effect nearby spots , if the storm does get closer to us especially at high tides.

That soup sounds great, today, RadishRose.

We are trying to make some chicken broth which is a big project for us.

I am also on the lookout for delivery of a small therapy ball, today, and yes they deliver today, even while the post office doesn't. It's coming by a different carrier.

I can't remember how to use it😊😊😊
😁😁😁😁
But I have P.T. tomorrow, and she'll show me again. :D

Yesterday, one of my challenges was to merge my 4 shopping lists into 1, which the online requires for a huge change the grocery store is making. An email told me to do it, or their system will delete 3 of them, but they didn't say how to do it.
I couldn't find a reasonable way, and struggled for a long while till I succeeded. πŸ™„πŸ«€πŸ˜³πŸ₯±

Since I was a little better yesterday, I overdid, and am worse, today, but trying to modify my small goals for today and hopefully not slide back. It's a frustrating level, as i want to fill the bird feeder and take the trash out, etc. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

Despite anything, I want to enjoy and treasure the day. And to beam some of that to dh,☺️
And out to each one of you as well.

@Kaila

Sometimes, it's 1 step forward, 2 steps back. The important thing, is, to never give up .. you didn't feel up to it, but you went to your appointment πŸ€—

I hope you are able to connect with your doctor, soon.

Good to hear that your hubby is doing better on different meds.

Take care!

Thank you Pinky.
That is helpful about the steps, forward and back.... and forward, again.... and, don't give up.

I read every post, multiple times, and each time I appreciate the helpful ideas and the caring support and the encouragement.
From you and from every single post by each one of you, here.

I almost put the heat on but then put a sweater on instead. I know I will be putting the heat on soon on of these days, though, for sure.

Pea soup rocks!! I haven't made it in ages but plan to this season!
Hi, Ruthanne.
The first few times it felt cold indoors, I just put on more clothing, like you did.
But now, I've been turning on just the one heater on the bathroom and it helps!

I love pea soup, too, and it can be made simple with fewer ingredients, or more, and still tastes fine to me.
Or the store bought ones are okay though so much added salt in those.

I've been thinking almost the same thing, except I have broccoli for the veggie. Our temps warmed up again, so my soup is on hold for now.

Good Morning, Kaila and Friends. πŸ€— :coffee: πŸŽƒ

Husband, son and I had fun over coffee-making in the kitchen this morning. We all converged at the same time and there was a line. It was okay though, we made it funny so there was no bloodshed. πŸ˜…

-Kaila, a therapy ball sounds like a great idea so you can get some focused physical therapy while at home.

---You mentioned you were feeling a bit worse yesterday so sending good vibes for your physical therapy session today, to work that out. I know you work hard at those appointments.

Hope everyone here woke feeling hale and hearty this morning. Wishing you all a wonderful day! πŸ₯•πŸ₯•πŸ₯•

Good morning @Kaila and all. Hope today is a good one for you. Not much to report, just felt a bit down the past couple of days, feeling a bit better today and my friend is coming round soon so that will cheer me up. Took Rocco out earlier and he's now fast asleep... as ever.

Grandson back in work today, don't think he was looking forward to that after having been off for a couple of weeks which included the trip to Turkey!

Booked my Covid jab for a couple of weeks time so that will be all my jabs sorted for this winter. Just got the eye test this coming Saturday and, hopefully, that's the end of appointments for the time being.

Oh, almost forgot... the picture on my television kept breaking up the other night when I was right in the middle of watching something. Unplugged everything and left it unplugged for a good ten minutes... didn't work. I did wonder at first if it was the television itself that needed replacing but I was getting some channels. In the end I did a complete re-set and bingo! it worked.

Enjoy your road trip @CallMeKate πŸš— :)

I'm sending a gentle hug for you, Pam.
And congratulations on fixing your TV!
That is quite a huge feat, in my opinion!

Thank you, dear friend.
I found yesterday morning to be extremely difficult, yet managed to get dh for his lab work and myself to P.T. though I arrived there, very bedraggled!πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ˜¬πŸ˜±πŸ˜–

The session was very helpful, whew!

I hope your usuals, today, are good usuals.

Hi Kaila,
I was just thinking of you so dropped in. Haven't come here in awhile, my mind has been preoccupied. It sounds like you are doing somewhat better than yesterday, no? Well, I hope so! It is a beautiful day here, too, with the sun out and not a lot of wind. Cooler and crisper but I like that! I don't like the hot temperatures anymore or the humidity that goes along with it at times.

I, too, have to make more dr. appointments; one appointment for a hematologist because of low platelets. Saw my new gp doctor twice in the past month and she is pretty nice and pleasant, too. I know I'll be going to some other doctors too as soon as I schedule appointments but not looking forward to it really. I'm rather tired of seeing doctors but at least they are usually nice and helpful. Maybe I should think "one doctor at a time". That's all I can really handle.

I know it's difficult adjusting to new medications, too. I've been doing it, too. Adjusting to an increase in one med and then 3 newer medicines, too. But I figure they are helping some. I just don't like the process I guess!

I hope you have a better weekend than it's been for you.πŸ’œβ€οΈπŸ’›πŸ’š
Ruthanne, I'm glad to read that your new dr is pleasant and seems good. I'm sorry that you've got other dr appointments to come; I do know that is challenging, to face and to carry out.

I agree that one at a time, it's a way to manage them. Perhaps decide which to prioritize, and start with that.? Perhaps you already did. The hematologist First?

I'm rooting for your appointments and your conditions to be tolerable to cope with, friend. πŸ’—

Oh gosh, adding new meds is difficult as well. One at a time for those, if at all possible too, right?

I don't know if you saw my other reply post to yours about the chilly weather, and heaters and something else. 😊☺️πŸ₯°
