Everytime my internet goes up I call and plead financial hardship, "there has to be something you can do, I'm not able to afford the new rate, I'm a senior on a fixed income..blah, blah, blah". They always are able to adjust my rate, they either give me a monthly credit, or a new plan rate, or once a made up senior discount. That rate is usually good for a year and then they raise the price and I call again. Same thing happens with my trash pickup, they raise the rate and I have to call and negotiate it back down.
That's where you should start, call your present provider and ask about any discounts or any other way to lower your rate
