A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Today we went to the provincial park again. There were only 2 campers there. The temperature was 17 and it was nice and sunny. We took a longer walk today which was nice. We went down to the beach.

We saw two bald eagles circling up above us.

It was a lovely day for a walk..

Nova Scotia is 80% forest and Canada’s ocean playground. It’s less expensive than other provinces too but snakes aren’t going anywhere. lol

Today we walked on the boardwalk in our closest city. It was cloudy and 14 degrees.
Here’s our coast guard boat.

We sat and watched a sailboat get its sails dismantled and lifted off the boat and I was sure I took a picture but I didn’t. Too bad cause it was interesting how it was done.

After our walk we stopped by a ‘Running Man’ store and bought a pizza for lunch as well as some Lacy cookies.

According to my husband, those aren’t submersibles. They are boats used for training. There’s a marine college close by and we saw 2 of those bright orange boats go by. I think they are generally used for marine emergencies.

Note: my husband could be wrong though.
I don’t know might have been a better answer. lol

Well, that seems a sensible conclusion. Would be a fun thing to get to watch, a training exercise. :)

Today we walked in the provincial park. It was only 13 degrees and cloudy / sunny.

Today we heard back from my brother who got all the 12 canned foods we sent him. He was pleasantly surprised .

If you're referring to the orange boat in the white metal frame ...

That's a Freefall Life Boat - not a submersible. That whole frame and boat as you see it in the pic is mounted to the stern of cargo ships and the purpose is for immediate escape from the ship in the event of a fire or explosion or other occurance that would require immediate escape as there is no need for the time consuming task of lowering a traditional life boat. You just climb in, strap youself in tightly and the boat then is released and free falls off the stern of the ship into the ocean below then bobs to the surface. Has it's own engine and emerg. suppiles in it.

If you've ever seen the movie Captain Phillips, with Tom Hanks, they use one in that movie.

Thats what my husband said. That it was a life boat that disengages when needed.

Today we took the Celtic trail. We went on the very first part of it.. It was 13 degrees and cloudy. We had 2 ATV ‘s pass us.

I love all the different colours of the plants changing colours.

Yesterday I forgot to post pictures of our walk so I’ll post them in with today’s walk since we walked the same place. We walked the forest walk which is just over 3 km. It was 15 degrees and partially sunny.

The coloured leaves are now falling.

Today we bought 4 gallons of freshly picked cranberries. We are planning on making some cran-orange and crab-apple JAM!

Today we went to the park to walk. It’s the last day the park is open. We didn’t walk as far today ‘cause I threw my back out some.
We made cranberry jam today. Altogether today we made just over 6 litres of jam bottled in 250 litre and 500 litre jars.

Luckily we can still use the park for walking even though it’s not open.
The park office was really busy today. They are probably tying up all loose ends of closing.

Today I went a different way to extend my walk. I’m not really sure how far I walk but it was a 2 hour 20 minute walk, so was fairly long.


The new path lead me closer to the city whereView attachment 296398 I could hear the highway and it was much hotter. It was 29 degree and with no trees shading us, a bit too warm.

On the way back to the shaded forest I took a picture of some ducks and let the dogs get a drink and cool them off in the water.

Once the dogs were cooled off I stepped up the pace. It’s a lovely walk making it easy to stay in a positive mood. This is, by far, my favourite walk here.

My thyroid and liver supplements came in today. I will start taking them today. I really think they will make a different to how I metabolize my food.

Anyway, this has been my morning walk.
Another good thing is that it beats the dogs out some so they start badgering me to play later on.
