AWww thank you and in looking at the first one with the red squares reminded me that I do have a top which perhaps could classify as a tartan.
I will dig out and maybe do a portrait of moi wearing it so you can all vote it in as a tartan or not.

Ha ..just remembered I took this one of myself three years ago when I was only 89 to send to friend in U.S and it shows the pattern quite well

Now, I'm not Scottish, so I don't necessarily know what qualifies as "tartan", but I thought it was any plaid pattern.
 
My father was born in Glasgow. I haven't been to Scotland but it's still on my bucket list.
I do love the way some Scottish folk dress!images (96).jpeg
