The USA Penny is going away.

So, it's finally happening. I've been hearing about doing away with the penny for years. One of my Jazzmobile teachers held a workshop in her home after Jazzmobile semester ended. She had a huge glass jar full of pennies, almost as tall as me and probably wider too. I wondered how the heck she got that thing in there or would get it out if she had to move. If I recall correctly, she lived on the second floor.

A couple of months ago, my son took me to the credit union so I could use their coin machine. I had a little more than $43 in coins. My son had cashed his out the week before and had more than I did. Since I hardly ever use cash anymore, I don't expect to add to the few pennies I have left.

Now just hold yer fuzzy horses there, fella! 😁 I am not a "little old lady" still in my 60s. I own no change purse. But by diddles, when I go through McD's for my hot mocha, it comes out to $4.02 and you can bet I give them either four ones and two pennies or a five and two pennies to get a dollar bill back. @fuzzybuddy

i know some women in their 60s who are knockouts. A lot of gals in their 20s, 30s and 40s would not mind their figure. One of the sexiest and most dangerous man eaters at the senior center is 70. She once held my lukewarm cup of milk for me, and when I got it back I had to let it cool down again. What does this have to do with Pennies? Well they are made of copper which is a great conductor of heat.

Post 1982 American pennies are only 2.5% copper content. Mostly zinc beginning 1982. Pre-1982 penny is 95% copper value between 1.7-2 cents per penny.

I picked up a few things at Walmart today and the total came to $15.99. I put in an even dollar amount expecting a penny back and the machine gave me a nickel. So I came out 4 cents to the good! :) If this means the machine always rounds up your change maybe I can trick it into giving me a few extra cents every time!:)

I wonder if the last penny that was produced (think it was yesterday) will wind up being worth a lot of money. No way to tell which is the last, but maybe the last batch?

That's the thing. You never know what you should save to make a killing. I had baseball cards and comic books. Who would have known I shouldn't have thrown them out.
