My brother had one of the first truly mobile cell phones. It looked like a car battery with a landline handset on top. I cannot find a photo of it right now.
There's a K2 phone booth for sale on E-Bay:


Have you got four predecimal pennies? That was the cost of a three minute call.



The brick is just a collector piece these days, it's analogue mechanism isn't compatible with digital. And even if it was the 2G network is no more.

I know, and phones now can fit in the palm of your hand and be more capable than computers from back in the day as well
