Boy, is it stupid.
Such a compliment, thank you kind lady.I have danced all my life, I attended a dance school as part of my regular education as a child, and I always wated to dance professionally and never got the chance..
However we do have our own dancing couple on the forum, in the shape of @horseless carriage ..and his wife... who have taken part in many dance competions over the decades...

You rock lady, I love your description: "downright fun stress reliever."You probably think it's stupid 'cause you can't dance.Dancing can be expressive and beautiful (ballet, modern Jazz) or it can be a downright fun stress reliever. Dancing can show off how athletic people are too. I love to dance and even at 78, still get compliments on my dancing, though I'm never over the top, just cool with my moves. I also get a kick out of seeing the flash mob dances. I've been meaning to research why it is we feel the urge to dance (besides having music move us).

Line dancing looks stupid, like calisthenics. And country 2 step dances.look redundant.
I used to square dance but could not remember the steps
and got to hate it. A lot of socalled dancing is just moving around your body, which is not proper
dancing to real dancers. AND most people are not very good, especially me, so it can look uncoordinated.
Now professional free style dancing is altogether different, an art form. And ice skating dances, very hard to do well.
You can't compare yourself to entertainers.
Yeah, He's great!! When I see him dance it makes me smile!!LOL...conversely he was brill on Dancing with the stars

The joy of dance is a universal and powerful form of self-expression and physical release. It serves as a shortcut to happiness by allowing individuals to let go of inhibitions, relieve stress, and live fully in the present moment.
