Seems like the tables have been turned as a white principal was thrown to the floor by a black student. Public schools can be a dangerous place for students and staff of any race...
Jim, it happened yesterday in Sacremento. Google student slams principle to the floor
Shalimar, your concept of blacks have no worth in the US is just as false as can be. Look to our government. Our President is a black. Many of the Presidents adviser's are blacks. A brain surgeon candidate for next presidential election is black. In previous years Bush had blacks for his adviser's. The US is pretty good with accepting blacks. I have a black neighbor where I live.
The biggest problem with the blacks is in their ways of wanting something for nothing so they get into crime and drugs rather earlier in life. Mostly this happens in cities where there are gangs that take over and run things. It is not something anyone tells them to do. Look into our business world and theater types, lots of blacks involved. It is not something evil the US imposes on the blacks at all.
April, I hope I did not come across as suggesting that all African Americans are targeted as unimportant in America. That was not my intent. However, in many places, huge inequalities exist. Breathing while black can be dangerous. I also did not mean to infer that blacks were more prone to violence than other ethnicities. I just hate injustice, whatever form it takes. We are all people, worthy because we are here!
Of course not, there certainly is a high amount of violence in mostly impoverished areas in this country many of those areas contain a lot more minorities, but, to lump all of any group as being such and such, even within a community is what I have a problem with. It would be akin to me saying white men are serial killers or pediphiles instead of saying some men or even showing legitimate statistical data saying one group is more prone without some background data. Blanket statements are what perpetuate types of fear, prejudices, inequality and unjust treatment and keep all people at each other's throat. I know that is the aim of some people in this world, so, I choose not to stay silent when I see such nonsense.
Nope, it is the cause, all else follows. And remember, many poor people worked hard to raise responsible children and lift themselves out of poverty and discrimination in the past...
Let's call it White guilt that you seem to be suffering...
Who are "the blacks" is this a gang of some sort? You might want to try rephrasing or do you think of all in one full sweep as so many appear to?
I don't know if this is going to be a contest of who is more violent, but, I can guarantee you I start pulling up links and videos showing kids of all ethnicities doing things to teachers and other people in authority, none are justified, but if you want to start targeting one group, I do have to start wondering why. Do I think the behaviors of some teens are out of hand, yes, do I thing there are teens in urban areas doing and using laws unjustly, I do, but if we are going to start down this path, I can assure you I will bring the material to match showing these behaviors aren't limited to blacks or urban areas.
Sorry if my post offended you as I was really trying to show just how well accepted blacks are in the US. The part you object to is not a generalization at all. It speaks to facts, nothing else. Go to Chicago or Detroit or other large cities and those ways of live do happen. The topic was about blacks and those are facts.
Whites, Hispanics, and orientals also have similar problems in areas they gather in. This post was not about putting down the blacks at all. Let us not allow political correctness to deny telling truth about how things are happening.
My post was positive about how the US works with and allows blacks to grow and move forward just as all are allowed.
Nothing to do with political correctness, the fact that you cannot see how what you've said is offensive in general is the problem with many who think and condone your wording. You can't see it, that's a major issue and no matter what I say, I don't feel I can change how you view things, but, I can speak up so others who have an open mind will think twice or at the very least give pause and think about their language and how they categorize a whole group in how they speak when addressing people, words have a way of influencing people's thoughts no matter how small and petty one thinks thinks things may be.
The Blacks, The Jews, The Asians, when you say it that way you are labeling all in that particular group as having all those qualities good or bad and that is how you phrased it. Same when someone says the conservatives, the liberals, not all are the same. I don't take these things lightly, some do, but, I'm very conscious of the harm letting such things become passe can become a scab then an infection, not other proof needed than our political system. I make no apologies for being a stickler in the matter, the rest of those who want to call it being political correctness gone ary you are free to do so as usual as I am and will defend my stance, while letting you know, I've nothing but good feelings toward all people of all groups only individuals or clusters of people within a group will I point a finger at, but, also while looking in the mirror and trying to correct my own errors, well after I calm down anyway.![]()
Thanks for admitting that you think specific topics are bad. They are not. For being an admitted 'political correct' fan you do not fix anything for this topic. I speak truth and that is more important than the 'jello like' conversations of 'political correct' styles. We all need to know facts, not just exist in some sort of dream world. In general PC is OK. Avoid intentional hurt of others is a good idea. But when trying to describe situations the truth is required. My post was mostly supporting the blacks as they were the topic. Observing that some do have problems is a fact, not intended to be abusive.
So there, you once again have seen me speak in truth form as I see things. You see things differently. That is OK for both of us.
