Here’s the latest scam to hit my phone.

I get text messages about prescription refills/ready for pickup, but there’s only a couple and they’re both filled at my local pharmacy.

Some of my friends get their prescriptions filled online, and from more than one online stores, so I can see how they could easily be taken by this kind of scam. 😣IMG_6536.jpeg

I keep getting a text “reminder” that I owe money on my Sun Pass account, which is a pass to use on toll roads in Florida. Of course, there is a threat that unless I immediately send X amount of dollars via PayPal or Venmo to the e-mail address below, my license would be suspended. I get this message about 3-4 times per month. The laughable part is that the amount changes with each text.

I just got the same" reminder, except that it's for E-Z Pass (not Sun Pass). It looked and sounded very realistic, except that
1. I hadn't gone on any highway that uses that toll system for months, and

2. The dead giveaway was that they were threatening a "late fee" for not having enough in my bank account to cover the fee. (The automatic payment from the bank is $25 when needed). So I had less than $25 in my bank account, which I just didn't happen to notice? And they said I had to pay Immediately (all caps).

Real government agencies don't threaten people, and don't use scary tactics like this.

The funny thing about that is that Sun Pass doesn't send a reminder message that your account is getting low (at least they don't send it to *me*). And they certainly wouldn't "suspend your license" if you didn't up your account. They'd just send you a bill for the charges, with an "administrative fee" added. Now, if you didn't pay THAT, you might get a nastygram about the consequences.

It’s been kinda quiet regarding scam messages here ….although I did get one claiming to be from the post office last week regarding a package ..of course it was scam …our neighbour is the parcel delivery man

The scammers have actually educated us well , how to recognise scams by poor English / spelling , and altho ….we still need to be wary most are just ….plain laughable ….( to us ) especially road toll scams as we would have to travel at least 1.000 km to the nearest toll road
