Now there is a bit of a legend Well I say bit, more like a lot of... First became aware of him in the 80s when I was reading about a 60s Shelby Mustang. Then again shortly after when a collage lecturer brought a AC Cobra to collage.

The UK manufactured version was tested on the M1 motorway in England, before British motorways had speed limits

You got it. Shelby was a giant when it came to speed.
Even more impressive was Ken Miles' 0-100-0 Record:
A famous demonstration showed a 427 Cobra accelerating to 100 mph and braking back to zero in a mere 13.2 seconds on a cement surface.
