What are you cooking or baking today?

I didn't cook today, we went & had BBQ for something different.

My daughter just finished her second batch of German stollen which made 6 loaves & the house smells good. In one of them she added a log of marzipan for her Dad. We'll freeze a couple for later & the rest she is taking into work.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sugared out with everything. I think my sweet tooth will be satisfied for several months now .

Today I'll be making:
Appetizers:
Italian meatballs using Impossible "meat" - one version vegetarian, one version fully vegan
Fresh vegetable platter with assorted dips
Crackers with assorted spreads

Dinner:
Sausage, peppers & onions (two batches - one with vegan sausage)
Tortellini Alfredo (ditto on two batches)
Garlic bread (ditto again)
Sauteed mushrooms
Caesar salad
garlic bread

Dessert:
An array of the Christmas cookies I've been making over the past month

Everything is finally prepped, taters in their pot & asparagus in the steamer just waiting for the time to start. Husband is getting the rib roast out to come to room temp just before he pops it in the oven. We'll have a few minutes to sit down & watch the Twilight Zone before we have to cook.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

The neighbors across the road brought me over a plate of their Christmas meal. (ham, corn, rolls, cookies, banana nut bread, some kind of cake, and deviled eggs). I had a little of it. It should last me a couple of days. Today I'm going to a lady's house that volunteers at the museum. She's having a pitch in Christmas dinner. I'm bringing a butter pecan cake. The cake turned out beautiful. I'd post a picture, but I haven't mastered posting pictures on SF yet.

I bought some stuffed salmon from Aldi. I baked them and they were big enough that i cut them in forths and made a tray with some meatballs for us to pick at. I also cooked noodles and made a pseudo alfredo sause with mushroom soup. There are recipes online. I have a chopped Caeasar salad.
