It's not long now for the old year's exit.

How are you spending New Year's Eve? Do you sit and watch the fireworks on the T.V. or go to a park to watch. I usually watch on the T.V. but it
seems to be the same every year, although they always say, "It's the best one ever". We here in Sydney have two fireworks display, one at 9p.m.
for the children and then the big one at midnight. I'm usually in bed not long after.

While I'm here just let me wish all my Forum pals HAPPY NEW YEAR for 2026. May you all be happy, healthy, safe, and may all your wishes come true. BIG HUGS ALL AROUND.

I will be spending mine alone with the felines. We be most wild and crazy here.
We watch Twilight Zone marathon and eat lots and lots of cookies. And some of us get high on catnip.
Then the next day I usually have a major sugar hangover. And the felines are still stoned.

I have to make a pasta salad to take to my sister-in-law's, tomorrow.

@Veronica, I'll be watching the Twilight Zone marathon and feasting on sugar, too.

@hawkdon, I hope the fireworks aren't too bothersome. I sympathize. A nearby town in my area is trying to set a world record for largest fireworks display. Representatives from the Guiness Book of World Records are here, apparently. Ugh. I'm glad I live out of earshot.

At this age, the New Years go by like phone poles when you're driving on the freeway. I don't pay much attention, just focus on my main task, which is staying vertical and reasonably cogent for the next 15 years or so.

of the US above the Mason-Dixon line. I do agree with the sentiment though.

This year maybe the Fireworks won't bother me as bad as when Oscar was still with us.
Thunder and fireworks drove him berserk and he'd be some where digging at the floor trying
to get to China. I tried to explain to him if he made it to China he won't like it as most of
them are made there.

As usual, the fireworks over Sydney Harbour were fantastic, lasting a furious 12 minutes of so.

Filmed from various vantage points on both sides of the harbour the reflections on the water were just brilliant.

I think our county has banned all fireworks because it is so dry here....makes me happy.

I have plans to go to a party with my GF at a hotel down in Tampa.

We always go away for New Years with friends. This year we’re going to RT lodge where we’ll stroll the grounds and sit by one of the fire pits sipping cocktails. Then we’ll have an amazing 6 course dinner, followed by some time around the huge stone fireplace sipping on after dinner liqueurs. Close to midnight the waiter will hand out glasses of champagne to everyone and we’ll count the New Year down and have a champagne toast.

Next morning we’ll eat a sumptuous brunch before checking out and heading to Tuscany Inn Tennessee, for more delicious food, soaking in the hot tub, sitting in the gazebo round the fire or inside in front of the fireplace with port and cigars. We’ll have another delicious breakfast next day, before getting back on the road and heading home

Tonight, I plan to be quietly celebrating the passing of the holiday season and looking forward to a return to normal schedules and routines.

The people on the other side of the woods behind us will do their annual reenactment of the bombing of Dresden, starting at about 8 and lasting until 2 a.m.

The Spousal Equivalent will go to bed at 9:30, as usual.

I'll watch the ball drop on TV and then go in and give him a kiss and a Happy New Year wish.

I woke up to see the New Year's display in Australia. Wow, what a show of fantastic firework displays.
