She used to attend church, but understandably can't anymore and is in an assisted care facility.

Maybe she held on to make it to the new year, and then was willing to let go?She passed away this morning.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the people left behind that loved her.She used to attend church, but understandably can't anymore and is in an assisted care facility.

Blessings on her, and her family, but with respect, I really hope I get the call much earlier than the century. What a milestone! Not a lot of people can say they made it that far in age..
Agreed - can't see the point of goin for the long jump?Blessings on her, and her family, but with respect, I really hope I get the call much earlier than the century.
You are a lovely person to do that.I'm the only one who keeps in touch with him... he lives just 500 yards away
It is unfortunate that quality of life worsens the older one gets. That is one of the side effects of people living much longer than they used to, according to a medical article I read a couple of years ago.My Mom lived to 103 +6 months. Based on what I saw with her, quality of live was not great at all past 100. I'm sure there's exceptions to that but I don't think I wanna live that long myself.
It sounds like she had an interesting life and was a lovely person.
The other thing I noticed with my mother was that once people go into a full care nursing facility, which my mother had to do at 100, they don't traditionally last too much longer. I think I read the average is around 18 months. My mother roughly doubled that.It is unfortunate that quality of life worsens the older one gets.
