Good morning and Happy Wednesday, January 14th, fellow SFers! I really do need to get back into the habit of knowing the date. Yesterday I thought it was around the 10th and was surprised to realize I was several days off.

Lovely day ahead today. Warm but breezy.

Missing @packleader's posts - hoping all is ok with him.

Have a great day everyone, and don't do anything I wouldn't do. Pretty much means do whatever you please...

I keep forgetting your so far behind us timewise.. so when you say G'morning..it's evening here..lol..... coming up to 6pm now...

Last night, I grabbed my dust rag and gave the end table in the living room a quick wipe. Today......I can't find that dust rag ANYWHERE!!!! I'm sure that I just idly set it down somewhere, but I don't have a clue where! I've looked, and looked, and looked.....

The dust rag doesn't really matter, since I know that it will eventually turn up. It's the not knowing what I did with it that is driving me crazy(-er)!!!!!

This happens to me all the time. It is very frustrating. I remind myself that it is due to my having Very Important Thoughts that naturally preclude my not being able to remember where I put things.

Sometimes I find them where they actually belong!
 
Another incredible day here. It's really warm, but skiing's been great for the last 10 days. The crowds of Christmas and New Year's are gone so plenty of room to let the skis run. I was following my buddy and working on some technique, he was collegiate ski team racer and a pro bump skier after that. I'm usually the fastest skier amongst my buds, but he turns the tables on me!

I am sharing my space with 2 cats and 1 dog. They are snooping around and into everything. I prepared for this invasion by putting all wastebaskets into the bathroom and shutting the door. These are not my pets. They belong to my stepdaughter and her family.

I just looked over at Cosmo (a cat) and he noted my (what he thinks is) adoration and sped over here. His goal in life is to drive me nuts sitting on my keyboard. Aha! The dog (Bjorn) has come in, tail wagging, to amuse the cat. This is a fierce cat.

The prima donna cat is nowhere to be seen. She is quite small and whatever she does must leave her pristine. She refuses to get into the litter box. She balances daintily along the edges. She's a prime cat to train to use the toilet. So dainty and so cute. Here is a photo of Pickles. She is a little over a year old.

I was to tired to cook dinner, so I just had a ham Roll... and tea...

I made another attempt at attaching the TV cables to the Internet boxes after looking at a youtbe tutorial but it really wasn't relevent to what I needed, so Im no further forward with that.

I finished another Diary ...as most of you know I;m an avid Journaler, and keep a diary in my bag at all time, and the last one has come to an end.. they usually last about 4 months with all my writings in them, and I try my best to get a different Diary than the last one.. each time

Up to now they've all been pretty plain but different colours.. but this one I got, I'm really pleased with.... It's in a rich purple... the corners are metal protected.... and inside the cover is a fab colour picture of a compass/ ships' rope and map.... and then in on the next page, on the facing page..is a Vintage sailing scene... and the following pages are all a light tobacco shade, rather than the usual white...and to add to the little luxury is a brass, heavyweight anchor bookmark .. all of this on a small A6 notebook

an update from my morning post
There was no sign of the company here today to do inspection of the fire sprinklers in the building & our apts,oh well
I went outside this afternoon around 2:30, had stopped raining went around the building, temp had dropped to 34,could feel the dampness in my knees,doubt I'll be going out tomorrow, high will be 14 brrrr!

It's been a busy few days with work, but I took time today to run out and grab a few grocery items because a High Wind Warning starts tomorrow and runs until Friday night, with gusts up to 50 mph (~80 kmh). So I want to keep outdoor excursions to a minimum during that time.

I don't feel like doing any more work today; I'm tired and want to be lazy. But deadlines are calling. Still, I may take an hour or two to relax. The problem is, "an hour or two" often turns into "the rest of the evening." ;)

I had my first Zoom appointment with the estrangement coach/therapist, and it went surprisingly well. She really seemed to understand. I have another appointment for next week. I hope to get to a place of acceptance where I'm not always on the verge of tears.

I hope everyone's day has been good.

I can’t believe we’re halfway through January.

1. My area has started another weather roller coaster - a cool down this time🥶💩

A cloud covered/damp 47F today. Low 27F tonight. High 32F tomorrow with a wind chill. Supposed to have full sunshine at least. This means the furnace runs more🤯🤯

2. Both my 4-wheelers are down again —- why not💩🙄💩🙄 One has the tractor blocked in. I need the 50# salt block in the trunk of the car moved to a water station. I need to THINK——

Backed car as close as possible to the gate closest to the water station.
Laid unopened heavy duty garbage bag behind the car.
Rolled/lifted 50# salt block over trunk lip, down onto garbage bag.
Carefully pulled/slid garbage bag thru gate, along five T-posts (= 50’) worth of woven wire fence to the salt block holder.
Rolled salt block into holder and voila! Mission accomplished without too much pain.

Supper was two hardboiled eggs and a bottle of Boost.

New season of The Masked Singer is on Fox tonight. It’s not for everyone’s taste, but I like the costumes and trying to guess whose in them.
 
Hello folks. I just wanted to pop in today to see how all of you are doing. I truly apologize for my past behavior. I tend to express all of my anger towards you folks and that just isn't fair. I'm so, so very sorry for my past outrage when it comes to our Autistic son. I truly hope you are all well and many thanks for your concern. Is there anyone for whom can relate to such awful Autistic behaviors? I'm just so, so very tired. A million thanks to all.
 
Morning peeps of SF.... 🙋‍♀️ very wet day today, still almost dark at 9am... weather warnings been given out right & left...

The Carpenter has been here since 8am.... he's building the units as well blocking in all the pipework.

I called the Tv repair man, to ask if they could come and plug the tv boxes back in, and he wants £80..... ($107 USD) I nearly fell off my chair.....

I have had the same problem with re-connecting computer/tv/etc cables. The last time, I wrapped tape around each end of every cable and marked it, along with the place it plugged into. "A" to "A", "B" to "B", etc. It really helps.

Sounds like the utility room build is moving right along. Nice!

I wish I'd done that, but the delivery guys were working really fast because they weren't supposed to be doing anything more than delivering, and I'm sure they had more to do.. so I didn't have tme to say..''hold up. a minute let me check where those leads go)..but it's a good point.. when the tv guy gets here this afternoon, I'll take a picture of where the leads go..(y)

yes the build is coming along , despite the rain... . I don't know how far along the carpenter is but he's had constant visitors with deliveries of wood, counter top units, and tiles , and even the boss came round.. I can hear the drilling very loudly from here... I'm upstairs in the front of the house, and he's downstairs at the back of the house... it sounds like a lot is being done !

Morning all, I decided to go outside for a brief early morning walk at 6:50,temp was 15,all bundled up but no wind. I didn't go far just by the driveway/sidewalks by the front entrance a couple of times,since they were shoveled. We got about 4 inches of snow ,since the high today will be in the teens near 20,local public/private schools are close
My plans today, reading today's NYT, my book, may go out mid morning for another walk
As for dinner tonight, eating with the guys, Bob, Gene&Jim in dining room at 5:30,our weekly get together. When we knew our friend, Connie was no longer living here at Gates, now at the other Canterbury Woods site in Williamsville,we began our meal by raising our glasses saying' To Connie'

Good morning everyone. It will be 27 degrees tonight and I have asked my lawn mower man to come and trim my gardenia plant so it will be easier to cover for a few days this week and a few next week. We are having cold weather but will warm up the last part of next week.

It sounds like the building in your home is going strong @hollydolly. I hope you get your TV set up today, too.

It must be cold weather in a lot of the states, so stay warm and well, everyone. :)
 
The units are all in and the counter tops... on one side , they look really nice.... and he's now sawing some more for the other side. I can hear the electric saw going again...

I suspect it's made more difficult for him It's hard he can't get outside to do it because of the rain and he's having to do it all inside

The Tv guy hasn't come yet... but it's only 2.35pm and he said between 2 & 4pm.. so hopefully he'll get here soon...

I'm not a big TV watcher... but I do miss my regular shows that I watch while eating dinner...:D

Wooohoo.. tv is back up and running...(y) cool guy... young, just a bought a 7 bedroom house that he's renovating, he told me....... ! Now I know that I've contributed to a window pane..lol
