A Nice Walk ( with photos )

I especially love the 2 lake pictures.

Looking at natural waters is so healing.
I'm glad they are there for you.
And that you share the photos with us.
This thread was a great idea.
Love the flat easier-walking pathway, too.
Thanks Kaila. Just being near water of any kind is so soothing. I seek out trails that are near some type of water whether that be the ocean, a lake, a pond or river..The water speaks to us in some form or another.
I’m glad you enjoy my posts..

Really nice pictures, Patty. Especially the one with the piece of farm equipment and the one with the reflected images on the lake. You really have an eye for beauty.
Thanks Medusa. I love seeing old vintage equipment left put. where it last worked. With a bit of imagination , It tells a story I look for beauty in most things. I’m glad you notice .
I hope you don’t get too lonely with your husband gone.

Today we walked to the provincial park. We timed it so we missed the freezing rain. When we started out, it was snowing lightly. When we ended our walk it had just turned to freezing rain. It hurt my face a bit making me glad the walk was over. We went home, made bacon , eggs and baked beans, then we gave our dog a bath. They like being bathed but hate the process. Looks like a maritime climate, but beautiful. I'll bet you wear a sweater there in summer!

Today we went to the provincial park to go for our walk. The walk was a bit slippery but not slippery enough to wear cleats.

At the start of our walk we met up with a squirrel who had something in its mouth and was telling our dogs off at the same time. Here’s a picture of him. It was close enough to get a good picture.

Our walk is about 30 to 40 minutes. The great thing is it’s all paved road so is flat.

I took some pictures from across the bay. To me, it always looks pretty.

I hope you all have a great day.

Today it was raining again but we decided to go anyway. The dogs already missed 2 proper dog walks in a row. We didn’t want to make it a third.

We took umbrellas and should have put raincoats on our dogs but didn’t. Their raincoats are really cute too. They are red and really well made.

The snow has all melted from the paths due to the warm weather we had. Our older dog wanted to turn back sooner than our normal walk so we turned back. Our dogs really
own us. lol

We put our umbrellas away once most of the rain stopped which was about half way. Our dogs don’t really like walking in the rain either.

I like that you shoot the same scene through different branches.

Pleasant trail walk today, even in the rain. The, is it White Birch Trees? are pretty to see in the winter.

Our previous Boxer, Howie, used to scooch up next to me and share my umbrella when we walked in the rain. ☔ 🐕‍🦺

I would love to see your dogs in their rain coats if you have opportunity to take a picture. I'm sure they're adorable.

Ahhhh! That’s so cute; sharing an umbrella.
We just woke up from a nap. Once my husband turns our generator on I’ll put the dogs coats on and take a picture of them with their coats on and send it to you.
The white trees are certainly birch. It’s probably the most popular tree grown here.
Power is on from the generator .
7:00- power is back on

Today we went on the Celtic Trail, which is an ATV trail along the Atlantic Ocean. We went on a portion we haven’t been before. It was so nice, we ended up walking 6.5 kilometres.
Our dog with the poor paw was doing really well today. We actually saw her running today which was surprising.
IMG_2140.jpeg

We saw 2 older men, an atv with a couple, a couple with a dog, a single woman and a single man. Then again, it’s the weekend and it was a nice sunny day.

Halfway along the path we met up with 2 grouse. The male was showing off his plumage to the female even while we were headed their way. I guess he had to show that he had no fear. lol 😝 Silly bird. Then again grouse aren’t exactly what I’d call smart.

This is on the way back now. A new bridge and a new ocean view to see.

Nice to hear that your dog with the sore paw was feeling well enough to run. :) Do you think the supplements could be working already?

The grouse mating dance display picture is a great nature-in-action shot. :) I read that the males will dance for hours to display their fitness to the females.

Thanks Medusa. My husband and I both discussed that while walking. There’s a noticeable improvement. She was walking ahead of us on the entire walk, even ran about 10 times. Her limp wasn’t noticeable today which we were thrilled about.

The main medicinal ingredient in the supplement is green lip muscle powder. It’s actually known to rebuild cartilage. We are both very pleased with the fact that she likes the supplement. There’s no trying to hide it in other food. We just put it on top of her regular food.

The grouse shot is very interesting. All birds have interesting mating behaviour. This male was definitely showing mating tendencies yet my husband claims that their mating only happens in April and May. I guess they didn’t get the memo. What I find surprising about grouse is their lack of speed. We’ve almost run over some several times. They cross the road when cars are coming. They don’t seem to have common sense in this regard.
