They will actually continue to live separately until she finishes her childcare courses. They thought she'd be finished in December, but that isn't the case. She is going for certification that she'll need to open her own daycare center. They intend to buy a house here in Jersey. She insists that he doesn't move down there because he would take a significant cut in pay even though he'd be transferring within the same company. I appreciate her for that. Once he realized the pay difference, although he'd talked about moving south for years (before meeting her), he agrees that despite the higher cost of living, they need to stay up here.

I have my outfit ! I will not be wearing the themed color...burgundy. After considering several burgundy outfits both on Amazon and elsewhere, I realized that none of them would be suitable. Either they are too low cut, too flimsy, too long, etc. I decided to wear something I already have and just bought a turban hat to wear with it. because I will not feel like trying to do a headwrap, the results of which could be a crap shoot and in my experience, whenever I'm in a hurry, I can't get the scarves to act right.
A couple of days ago, I ordered four turban hats to try. Turns out the one I expected not to like, is the one I've chosen. I will be wearing black drop earrings that have a bit of shine. Here's the jacket, which is brocade. It will be buttoned all the way down so I don't need to wear a top underneath. I will wear a black A-line skirt with it. If it's too cold, I can wear black tights that will not show under the skirt. One of my grandsons and I will be color coordinated.
I thought the glitter would be too much for the jacket, but they look nice together. The turban's braided part will come down a little further than shown on this model's head.
Grandson will wear the outfit he wore to his senior prom a couple of years ago. His jacket is also brocade.

Smiley, my son, middle grandson and I are Muslim. We were all raised as Christians. Everyone else in our family are also Christians. I had a first cousin on my paternal side who was Muslim, but he passed. Some of my step children are Muslim. My son accepted Islam about 20 years before I did. I accepted Islam in my late 40's after studying the faith for about 3 years, during which time I also attended Islamic lectures and programs. I always walked away feeling enlightened. The same day I married my second husband, who was Muslim, I took my shahada (declaration of faith). My middle grandson studied Judaism and Islam while in his early 20s after deciding to leave Christianity. I used to call him a Mushtian.

You're welcome, of course. I'm happy to read that you have interesting, nice discussions with a Muslim. I wouldn't be surprised if your Muslim friend has mentioned to you that our Imams (Muslim ministers) teach from both the Quran and Bible. I'm a witness that Bible verses are sometimes referenced during kutbahs (sermons) and I have heard this in masjids (mosques) where the majority of congregants were African American, majority Arab and Turkish as well as at mosques or events with a diverse audience of Muslims.. We honor and revere all the prophets, peace be upon them. Those who are Islamophobic are so ignorant that they don't realize this and accuse us of hating anyone who isn't Muslim.
