A leading British member of Islamic State and three other foreign militants have been killed in U.S.-led air strikes in northern Syrian town of Raqqa, monitoring group the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Friday.A U.S. official said earlier that a strike in the area probably killed the Briton known as "Jihadi John", who appeared in videos showing the killings of American and British hostages.
"A car carrying four foreign Islamic State leaders, including one British Jihadi was hit by U.S. air strikes right after the governorate building in Raqqa city," Rami Abdulrahman, Director of the UK-based Observatory told Reuters.
"All the sources there are saying that the body of an important British Jihadi is lying in the hospital of Raqqa. All the sources are saying it is of Jihadi John but I cannot confirm it personally."
US officials said the United States carried out an air strike in Syria on Thursday targeting the militant, who has been identified as Mohammed Emwazi, a British citizen.

He deserved a fate far worse than this, but I'll take it. Nice way to start my morning seeing that this piece of human garbage will no longer be walking the planet.

I agree.... but what's that old saying.. "slow and steady wins the race"...? Obama isn't out grandstanding and bloviating about how tough he is.. He's working steadily and quietly to get the job done.. Not good enough for our Neocon friends... they want bluster and chest pounding..

Good to hear that on the news this morning, President Obama can add that character to his list, these are terrorist leaders who were killed under the the President in his first term. Glad to see that guy dead.

How Many Terrorist Leaders Has President Obama Killed?

By Andre Michael Eggelletion

With the killing of Muammar Qaddafi in Libya today, can the GOP continue to say that President Obama is soft on terrorism? I fear that they probably will, and never give this president any credit for anything. Nonetheless, here is a list of some of the terrorist leaders that have threatened America’s security who have been dispatched during President Obama’s first term of office.

1. Muammar Qaddafi in Libya today

2. Osama bin Laden, killed in May 2011.

3. Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) leader Anwar al-Awlaki.

4. Al Qaeda’s chief of Pakistan operations, Abu Hafs al-Shahri, was killed in Waziristan, Pakistan.

5. In August, ‘Atiyah ‘Abd al-Rahman, the deputy leader of al Qaeda was killed.

6. In June, one of al Qaeda’s most dangerous commanders, Ilyas Kashmiri, was killed in Pakistan.

7. In Yemen that same month, three AQAP senior operatives Ammar al-Wa’ili, Abu Ali al-Harithi, and Ali Saleh Farhan were killed.

8. In Somalia, Al-Qa’ida in East Africa (AQEA) senior leader Harun Fazul was killed.

9. Administration officials also herald the recent U.S./Pakistani joint arrest of Younis al-Mauritani in Quetta.

10. Going back to August 2009, Tehrik e-Taliban Pakistan leader Baitullah Mahsud was killed in Pakistan.

11. In September 2009, Jemayah Islamiya operational planner Noordin Muhammad Top was killed in Indonesia

12. In September 2009 AQEA planner Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan was killed in Somalia.

....very good news indeed.

IMO, probably not. This seems to be a series of co-ordinated attacks and the planning has probably been going on for some time.
More likely an attempt to intimidate the French into withdrawing as an ally in the fight against IS.

Meanwhile the Kurds and Yashidi have recaptured Sinjar a town in northern Iraq near the Turkish border that IS besieged then captured some 15 months ago. IS killed the men and enslaved the women and girls and the Yashidi and Kurdish fighters have vowed to slaughter any IS fighters that they capture in the town.

The story here makes for very grim reading.

It won't bring their dead loved ones back, but this must provide some closure for families of his victims.

I'd rather have heard that they severed his head VERY SLOWLY with a rusty knife dipped in pig blood !

Now that would have been justice, but the U.S. is now too politically correct to do such a thing. I'm with you on this though.

Politically correct??? Yes.... Perhaps this act should have been carried out on the West Lawn of the White House by President Obama himself!!!! Yeah... that would really send a message about American character to the entire world... That'd show 'em... what is wrong with you people?? Sink to barbarianism? Give me a break.
