I saw Gary Puckett in concert at the State Fair in New York back in the 1980's. This was long after he left the band the Union Gap. He still had a voice though.

I post this, then it says sign in to prove you're not a bot. I already signed in only 3 minutes ago and watched part of the video. Then I have to contend with constant "Captchas" to prove I'm human. I think I'm pretty much done with all this since there is little joy if any left in trying to use my internet. That all said, I hope viewers can hear / watch the video. [Please no advice.]

If I see a song I want to listen to, I have to leave SF, open a new page, type in the name of the song and find it on youtube, then log in, then play it. Most people wouldn't consider it worth it to go through all of that. Strange thing is, I can still post a song, but after I've posted it, it will not play for me.

I can post them. I can't listen to them unless I find them on youtube first and play them over there. I seem to be the only one complaining about this problem.

There is no option or popup offering me any option to sign in. It is a DEAD LINK.

This to me indicates that you are not signed in to your YouTube account on the YouTube website.
When you are properly signed in to YouTube you will see your custom avatar in the top right hand corner.
Can you confirm this?

I do not have a youtube account and therefore have never signed into one. The issue I'm describing is only a recent occurrence due to something they have changed, not me. My work around will be to (1) If I want to post a song, find it by searching Google VIDEOs (2) copy the link and post it.
If I want to hear / see other songs people have posted, I will open a new tab, search for ths song they posted and listen to it outside of the forum.
All that is fine when I'm in the mood - but many times I don't want to expel all that effort just to hear songs.

Do you have a gmail account? That's what it requires to sign into YouTube.
I had the problem you're having. It always meant I wasn't signed in on YouTube.

I am signed into my gmail account but it does not play the songs. I know people who do not have a gmail account but they listen to youtube videos without the hassle I'm experiencing.

You told me you're not signed into YouTube and never have.
So if you're not signed into YouTube, go and signin using your gmail address and password.

Thanks for trying to help. This thread isn't the place to resolve technical issues, so if I can improve my mood about all the many flaws of technology which they created - not me - since I have not changed the way I do things - I'll try to figure it out later. I'm going to close my internet, restart my computer, and then see what happens.

Okay. Well my advice is based upon what I did to resolve the issue at my end.
Your other alternative is to try and discuss what these miracle posters do that you're not doing.
This makes it all so clear....

???? If I have not changed what I'm doing but things are not working the same, that would be a natural reaction.
After doing a restart, I can now play the videos. That will last for awhile.
