Winter Storm - 18 States declare state of emergency as of 1/24/26

I wish I had 15 hundred amp generator to power my house, and a Caterpillar Tractor to get to my mailbox. Then I wouldn't have to worry about nothin', and I'd be laughin' at the rest of you.

I am close to that🤠

A 6500K generator, a 4WD JohnDeere with a FEL, and the feels like of four below zero in southern Middle Tennessee still isn’t funny.

We all have different perspectives on what’s important during this vulgar freeze event: I could care less about the mail box, he can’t get up the hill anyway. I need to get to the barn to make sure my horses have hay and their water heaters are working.

It is 💩💩💩💩 for the birds is what it is. We aren’t supposed to get out of the 20’s all week.

@IrishEyes kitten meme sums things up nicely.

Deb...your house looks just like the one I had in Va back in 2000. I really liked that house.

We ended up with about 9 to 10" of snow. We plowed our driveway around 1 pm yesterday & after that me may have had another 1" snow come down, so ours ended way earlier than what the weatherman said. No complaints about that.

Today is sunny & will be about 12F with low tonight of -5F. This will pretty much be the same until next Sunday when it will be a balmy 17F.

Hope everybody is staying safe & warm through this.

The Governor (DeWine) of Ohio also has declared a state of emergency 🦺. I'm not sure how much more snow 🥶 🌨️ we will get since we are right on Lake Erie. Sometimes we don't get too much snow here unless we get Lake Effect snow or an Alberta Clipper which can bring a whole lot of snow 🥶 🌨️

Time will tell.

When it reached 12 degrees me and DH went out to clean off cars and walkway.
I did the cars and he did the other. Took about 10-15 minutes with 3 layers of clothes, boots,
hat, coat and waterproof gloves. My hands began to sting abit just as I about done.
So be careful out there!

My dog has long chin hairs and she always drinks water before she will go out.
She comes in side with icicles on her chin and snowballs on her feet.
The last of the snow was up to her belly and on her own she began walking a path
back and forth of about 6 feet long. She did this several times, she was plowing down the snow
so she could squat. Never saw that done before!

Even in horrid weather amazing things happen if you just watch!

Nice pics by various posters showing exactly the reason we moved to the sunny south west. Right now it sunny & 60 degrees. But supposed to drop to 36 overnight. That as a temp doesn't affect us because we are asleep during those hours.
It can snow here but melts in about 5 minutes. No reason to go out if the temp is lower than 55F
