Did you ever get notes written like this?

When my daughters were very young and couldn't read, I would leave notes on the table for my wife to read when she came home.

One day I left this provocative note on the kitchen table:

"Hey Hon, I'll catch you later for a Boff!"

My elderly Mother came over for a visit that day (I had forgotten about the note)...she read it and said,

"Patrick, what's a Boff??"

My face turned purple but I quickly recovered and stated with conviction..."Oh! Er...a Boff is slang for a coffee. I want to meet her for a coffee later today!" :)

Mother: "Oh, I see."

(Phew! That was close! But in hindsight it was quite funny!)

I think that Mom just wanted to watch you squirm. 😉🤭😂

lol!
No! Mom was quite elderly and a little naive at that time. She really had no idea what I meant when I wrote the word 'Boff.' I'm just thankful I used that fun sort of word to describe hanky-panky...instead of a more obvious word.
