1. That’s probably because Canada doesn’t have as many sicko’s as the U.S.
2. and also, Canada does not have as many guns. Just looking at the stats, the U.S. leads the world with their civilians having more guns than any other country.

I have an acquaintance that shot a 12 point buck about 10 or so years ago. He said to me that he held the buck in his sights for about 3 minutes while trying to decide whether to kill this beautiful animal or not. He said he shot and killed the buck because he couldn’t help himself. Then, he goes on and tells me that if it was his neighbor up the street, he wouldn’t have had to wait the 3 minutes. So, there you go. Some people think the way to resolve a problem is to kill the person that made the problem.

I haven't heard much about this particular incident, but too much wrongdoing is passed off as 'mental illness.'

"Did the person know what he/she was doing" at the time
and
"Did he or she know it was wrong?"
That should be enough..
 
Social media posts from Van Rootselaar's mother in 2024 showed a gun cabinet in the home containing multiple rifles and ammunition.

Approximately two years ago, police seized firearms from the family residence following a mental health-related call. However, those weapons were eventually returned after the "lawful owner"—a family member whose identity was not disclosed—successfully petitioned the court for their return.

A family member stated that these guns had been returned to the home roughly one month before the shooting.

Court records from 2015 indicate a past legal dispute between Jennifer Strang and the children's father. At that time, a judge described the family as leading an "almost nomadic life," moving frequently across Canada before being ordered to return to British Columbia.
 
Most of the transgender people are normal. The problem is that such morons bring the entire transgender community into disrepute.
Why could this idiot not just kill himself instead of killing innocent children, among them three 12 year old girls. He obviously hated girls and women, maybe he knew that he never would become one of them.

Btw. All left-wing to far-left mass media in Germany, i.e. all by the government hyped or sponsored media, including TV stations called the shooter a woman.

I was surprised too Patty! The evil is spreading across the globe...mass murders are no longer just an American problem. Parents shouldn't have to worry about sending their children to school. And children shouldn't have to worry about dying or being injured in school. My heart goes out the the families of the deceased and injured.
 
If the killer was the reason for the mental health episode calls to the home is it possible when treated could he have been given medications that included ssri's which at one point seemed to be something mass school or public killers/shooters had in common.

That being said the killer was angry wanted to die and/or take as many with as he could. It was his obscene choice.

I can think of plenty of people that I could shoot before I would shoot an innocent animal. If I could be 100% sure I would suffer no legal consequences that is.

That’s not necessarily true. I knew a family like that yet their son committed a ghastly double murder. Some people are just mentally ill.

Legally, a person can carry around or have a mental illness, but not be insane.

Too often perpetrators believe they can get off if the jury believes they are mentally ill. However, those people then are judged by an independent psychiatrist, if the judge believes the defendant to be faking it. The IP may comeback and give evidence of the defendant’s mental illness and state that he or she is or isn’t sane.

Once the judge has been made aware that the defendant suffers from PTSD and to what degree is the defendant’s symptoms, the judge could or couldn’t allow a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity. (This is a hypothetical case.) There is a scale used to rate how severe the PTSD is on a person. I have seen people with PTSD that was so severe, they looked like they were comatose or unresponsive.

I have a story about a homeless man that walked the streets everyday until he was arrested for stealing food and having drug paraphernalia on his person. I volunteered my time to defend some of these people because of the high volume of cases. I did this in the evening after I finished my job working for a law firm. It was better than sitting at home or going to cocktail parties.
 
This is all immensely sad and one can predict will get worse. Ever since these mass killings mostly by youths began, one can expect that some angry, especially those suicidal, have been planning how they would get back at the rest of the world and those they hate. Each time such makes national and world news and so many good people and society feels pain from such actions, it only reinforces their intentions to do so. For every mass murder that happens, one can be certain there are several times as many that have been actively devising and planning how to do likewise.

Some people tend to think that people outside of war or law enforcement, that immorally kill other people must be mentally ill. Although that can be true, in the majority of cases it is not true, never has been, and rather such persons have trained themselves by repeated behavior and thinking to be evil, immoral without regrets. Often that is due to hatred of others or in the pursuit of material wealth or social/political power. Criminals themselves often revel, brag, and act tough and heartless being evil when among other criminals to show how bad they are and to be feared. In some ancient warmongering societies, significant warrior classes developed where brutalizing other humans was expected and celebrated.

Same thing among those evil doers that take and steal from others. They may regret what they do when exposed in public since they know others may punish them more if so, however when among other criminals their behavior is often again to revel, brag, and act heartless as though our human world is all dog eat dog, survival of the strongest.

If one studies ancient history, one will find much across the globe where large horde armies of evil doers rampaged over large regions, mercilessly murdering and plundering myriad innocents except for those youths they would enslave, usually killing all the adult men and old people, raping and enslaving attractive women for sex and sale to evil wealthy, and plundering any wealth. Were such evil doers mentally ill? Of course not. They had trained themselves by reinforcing behavior to be so.

In today's overpopulated, competitive, nationalistic, religiously fanatic, social and economic class unbalanced, wealth and materialist world, all these immoral behaviors will only increase. Making such worse in this technological science era with lethal weapons any person can obtain, are all the gun shooting video games. Also, unrestrained Internet web communities of evildoers that prey on the rest of us while reinforcing their own evil while laughing at mainstream society. Also, the many board games like dungeons and dragons where players assume behaviors of evildoers. If one still thinks such persons are merely mentally ill, I'll suggest web visiting a few such places to read how they think.

The blame truly belongs to guns. A person is lying dead in a pool of blood. The blood is coming from a small hole(s) in the body. What caused the hole or holes? It was a bullet or bullets. Where did they come from? A gun or rifle. That's where the blame truly belongs. I'm sick and tired of people putting the blame elsewhere. A person with a weapon killed the innocent people. They are not always suffering from mental illness. A lot are just filled with hatred. Or ignorant people who believe conspiracy theories. Never the less, they are carrying guns to kill people they don't like. Guns are the blame. Always have been and always will be.

The problem is that guns are sometimes in the wrong hands. Germany has knife attacks everyday and many of them are fatal. Would you blame the knives too?
U.S. citizens can be proud of their gun laws.
