How is your day Today? Chat about your plans and achievements 2026....

Good morning, everyone. It is 41 degrees now but will be 71 this afternoon. I have to uncover my gardenia plant as now it isn't scheduled for freezing.

I am beginning to wonder about Amazon and their deliveries. I was supposed to get one today and now scheduled for tomorrow. I guess their two day delivery doesn't mean two days to receive them.

I hope all of you stay well and have a good day. :)

Hi everyone! I've just had a very strange start to my day. Someone posted a creepy-ish message on my profile page, thinking that it was a PM. I admit that at first I didn't know what to make of it, but it really sounded "off". I looked up the sender and saw that he was new.

Well, OK.....maybe he doesn't know how to reach out to meet other SF members. Then I went to his posts. There was a whole list of female members who he had sent almost the same message to! 😮.
Just as I was deciding to report what was going on, View attachment 487878 , he was gone!! So now I'm in a good mood, knowing that the moderators are watching out for us!

I'm not sure what other nice surprises the day will bring, but I'm ready to get started and find out! I hope you all have a great day!
this is pretty common... I get these messages a lot but @Matrix takes care of it as soon as he's alerted...

and then I had a message from the hospital to call my GP for the results of the X ray.. I had recently.. the results came a lot faster than they said they would.

Our GP has just gone over to triage service which we have to access online.. so today was the first time for me to use it..

Oh dear very frustrating. and not straightforward at all..
I'm very Computer savvy yet I couldn't find anywhere to book an appointment for my results.. so those people who are not tech savvy especially elderly and ill are going to be very stressed...trying to navigate that pages long questionaire...
I finally just rang them, and the earliest they could give me an appt was a phone appt in the middle of March..*sigh*....

Have the best Wednesday you can folks....🌺🌺

Another viewing today, we shall be look at this property later this afternoon. It almost ticks all the boxes, I would have preferred a double garage but that's not insurmountable.
Good luck with it. It’s seems immaculate, in and out. I really like it. The realtors say that no place is perfect; can you accept what’s missing. It seems like you can work around the lack of garage.

It beggars belief just how inept our police are at times... in the uk

For example... and this is very common....

.... and today a Man was found guilty of the murder by shooting, of his colleague..

When the police found the victims body lying on an outdoor path.... quote.. ''
Mr Low's death was initially deemed non-suspicious - which one police witness accepted had been a 'glaring mistake' - and it was not until five days later that police began treating it as murder.

This was despite the fact Mr Low was found to have around 30 injuries from shotgun pellets and that pellets fell from his body bag when it was brought to a mortuary.''
Former gamekeeper is found guilty of murdering ex-colleague

..and again today..... the person who tipped off the police that MP Lord Peter Mandelson.. who was arrested for his part in the Epstein case... was named..... and Mandelson was told by the Met Police who grassed on him that he would be a flight risk... wth ?... now the police are publicly apologising to the whistle blower who happens to be Sir Lyndsay Hoyle..the UK parliamentary speaker...

Met APOLOGISES to Speaker Hoyle for revealing he was Mandelson grass

FGS....how much more inept can they get?..they're too busy arresting people for hurty words....

Before finding my home, here at The SF, I tried several other forums. None of them were right for me, for one reason or another.

There was one forum in particular that comes to mind. It's as if it was a "Lonely Hearts Club".....mostly in the PM, but even in the regular posts. Newbies were prime targets. I was fortunate enough to have a long time member guide me through the sleazy parts and keep on the legit parts.

The PM's that I received there were all innocent on the surface, but but they were just a way for the Creeps to get you to accept them. When I read the message this morning, all of my warning hackles went off! The message was innocent on the surface, but it sounded soooo much like the other forum that I was immediately wary!

So, once again, I'm really happy that @Matrix is watching out for us, and keeping The SF a fun, friendly, and safe place to go!

I'm a more awake now than when I first popped in.

As usual, I'm starting my day with my knee(s) feeling pretty good. That new injury always feels the best in the morning, and gets worse as the day progresses. So I'm planning on mostly staying off of it today, within reason of course. No extra walks, etc.

I made Pork Chops with Rice for dinner today. I hardly ever make pork....maybe once a year, or so. Since I was going shopping yesterday, I was in the mood to make something different. So, pork chops was the plan. They worked out pretty good. I loved the rice that they were made in....with mushrooms, onions, and granny apples. YUM!!

Now, of course, it's time for the big clean-up in the kitchen. 1772042381448.gif

@hollydolly there are some stories that I could tell, about that other forum!!!! 1772042514014.gif

Later we have been invited to dine out with friends, and tomorrow, those same friends, along with a lot of others, asked us to join them at Christchurch's Regent Centre:

Can't say no to that. Are we dressing up? Is The Pope a Catholic?
It looks good @horseless carriage. No doubt you have decided where the sewing cabin is going :)

You are ahead of me. Nowadays most of our urban areas are aerial photographed by drone. Before we have arranged any viewing we have looked at those drone photos of property from above. From what we observe my wife can appraise the cabin site. Downsizing as we are, we will probably have a similar cabin to use as a laundry room, which would give us more kitchen space.

We had a lovely meal this evening with friends at an Italian family run restaurant. The talk was all about tomorrow evening's Swingtime event. It promises to be a really good night.

He showed up last night and started with the profile messages. Then he posted at least two very articulate replies to a couple of threads. It didn’t even seem like AI had written them. If he’d kept these up for a few days, he likely could have fooled us - for a little while.

Afternoon all, I wasn't planning on doing much today
I did go out on my usual early walk at 6:50am temp was 30 which felt 'balmy' after yesterday's cold high of 22,as I went around the building once before breakfast

I walked 3 blocks to the street I used to live on and then turned around and walked back We didn't;t get the papers delivered today because our local paper, Bflo News is printed in Cleveland, the same lame excuse was' production problems' They also print NYT, so hopefully I'll get today's& tomorrows NYT
Tonight on PBS at 8pm will be watching'Nature' narrated by Sir David Attenborough
