Productive. Picked up a book at the library "Never Have Your Dog Stuffed" by Alan Alda. Went grocery shopping. Stopped by my tax preparer's office to sign the documents needed to file my return. (I'm getting back a little over $3500). Her fee went up $10 from last year.

Went grocery shopping and still had time to fizzle away before picking up the meals to deliver, so I went in Family Dollar. They has Valentine candy on sale for 70% off promised on a shelf sign. I picked out two small items, but when I checked out, they rang up the usual price. I asked the clerk if the prices included the 70% discount. She responded with a helpful "I don't know." The store supervisor was summoned. They wrestled with the cash register about 5 minutes. They finally got the candy for less, but I'm not sure it was the full 70% off. Recently I got some baking chips and the tag on the shelf said "Buy 2 bags for $4." I did but they rang up $5 each. I hate Family Dollar.

Having horrible day. I hate it here. Their food is slop. I want to go home now. It’s been three weeks. It’s phucking enough. They put up obstacles for me not getting home care. The longer they keep me the more money they make. It’s a racket.

Unfortunately I do need assistance. What price am I willing to pay for theirs?

As one of the few people here who have their marbles I would rather be dead than have no other option but this. I don’t see that as morbid. We all know what we are willing to accept regarding life and its quality

He was being generous. The two bucks for him might be worth twenty for you
I won't take money directly from a client. Like Pepper said, they probably need the money more than I do.

A bought gift is something different. If they went to that trouble and expense, it would probably hurt their feelings if I refused it. I've had clients bake me cookies and give gift certificates enclosed in holiday cards. Most don't do those things and I totally understand that.

One of the meal clients tried to offer me money today. We're not supposed to take money from clients. It was $2. He said to put it towards gas. That wouldn't buy a gallon here even if I accepted it. He probably though he was being generous.
well as someone who needs meals delivered to him he probably hasn't driven for a while, and may not be uptodate with the cost of petrol..... and I suspect he didn't think that it took a gallon of fuel for you to get to him, but may realise you don't get paid... so he was being very fair IMO if not generous....

As he said , ''put it towards gas''.... I would have been delighted, in your shoes ..but like you would have refused it with thanks

can't your family bring you food ?.... or what about buying food from the hospital shop ?

You wouldn't really be rather dead than being cared for in a hospital... they're trying to do their best for you, and you know it otherwise you would sign yourself out... Let them help you... food is a big issue , it's terrible in the Uk as well.. but you need to get well... so come to some arrangement about the food with your family.. it'll make things more bearable.

I thought I did have a food ETC arrangement with family. DIL brought over bunch of bananas today.
They should be taking me out of this dump once a week for a meal. They live two blocks away and visit often. I’m only saying what I know I would have done for my mother.

I also in my mind included the hours I spent here in my own waste.

There is no company here. Slack jaws clinging to life are the majority.

Son said I would be wrong to leave my grandson. I say that is my decision to make.

Certainly not at this point yet. (((Hollydolly)))

@smiley
Looking you up in Search right now! Can’t find your thread about BBC Humans. Where’d it go?

Garden. Had one in my whole life. Loved it. Son caring for cats.

@moviequeen1 Have I missed it or have you not mentioned "your" dog lately?

@hawkdon, cold water for your coffee? Just add some ice and have iced coffee instead. You can pretend it's the middle of the summer and you're just trying to stay cool :ROFLMAO:.
Hi,No I haven't been dog sitting my 'buddy boy' in a couple of months. Marcia's husband, Dave retired last June, so he's home now more. The last time I saw Tage was in early Dec. Whenever I talk to Marcia on the phone, he hears my voice,he starts barking LOL!
