What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

[Stay focused people.] Last movie I saw was 'Captain Marvel' with Brie Larson. Not the best of the series, but I thought it was fun!
If that was the 1st Captain Marvel, I though it was one of the better Marvel films before the End Game ended a Box Office supremacy. The second Captain Marvel about the Multiverse and constantly jumping in and out of phase, was not something I bothered adding to my collection. I believe Marvel, now under the direction of Disney, will never be revived. But what a run they had.

Focus?! What??!! Awwwww. jeepers Don,... you're no fun! :ROFLMAO: I will say this to @Bretrick and @ChiroDoc before I get back on topic. In addition to my cousin's friend who worked on the towers and said that it wasn't possible that they came down like that due to planes hitting the top of the buildings....we met someone else who had worked on the towers and said the same thing.

My son and I were at the bus stop and a gentleman around my age started talking to us. We both were retired and I asked him what he had done for a living. He said he had worked in construction and had worked on the towers. So, without mentioning what my cousin had told me, I asked him what he thought about planes hitting the buildings causing them to come down. He said no way...again mentioning how incredibly large and sturdy those concrete pillars and how strong the steel beams were.

Now...back on track. I started watching Jurassic World: Rebirth on Disney+/Hulu. I've only seen about 16 minutes of it so far, but I expect it will hold my attention. This is touted as one of the best in the franchise since the first couple of films. Based on the trailer, t's something I was looking forward to seeing once it started streaming.

Kindred
British mystery horror drama paranoid thriller.
Tells the story of Charlotte, a recently widowed wife who discovers she is pregnant with her deceased husband’s child.
Living with her stepfamily, Charlotte wishes to return to her home, or better yet, leave the country entirely, yet her husband’s family insists that she remain at the mother’s estate, seemingly against her will.
Will she escape the obsessed mother-in-law and brother-in-law before her husband’s child is due?

I've seen only the first one from 1993, Jurrasic Park. I was astonished by it-- the dinosaurs, the story, the attack scenes, etc.

I've heard that most of them have not lived up to the original. Some say Jurrasic World (2015) is the next best; some say Jurrasic World Dominion (2022) is.

Sooner or later I'll watch one of them, probably JW. I'm not a horror fan, so I don't cotton to constant tension and gore.

We watch lots of movies at the theater, so I have a sizable food/drink credit with AMC. Today we went to a dine-in theater and I used the credit to buy a couple of burgers and drinks. The burgers actually rivaled some of the better burger joints we frequent. Anyway, we saw The Bride, which is a movie directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal and is based on the Bride of Frankenstein. The acting was outstanding, but the plot was all over the place. Anyway, the burgers were good!

That looks good! I've seen the older woman in quite a few movies.

This seems so interesting and eerie. I do like scary British movies. Found out I can watch it for free through Kanopy, a digital media service offered through public library subscriptions. I think I'll like it despite what Roger Ebert said:

The most frustrating thing about the British prenatal horror movie “Kindred” is not that it’s impersonal, but rather that it’s not personal enough. There are flashes of lived-in tenderness throughout this paranoid thriller, which follows newly widowed Charlotte (Tamara Lawrance) as she struggles to remain in control of her body (and unborn child) despite the interference of her mother-in-law Margaret (Fiona Shaw) and her shy, smitten stepbrother-in-law Thomas (Jack Lowden).
While “Kindred” does sometimes feel true-enough to life—it was partly inspired by the real-life experiences of director Joe Marcantonio, his co-writer Jason McColgan, and (presumably) their respective spouses—it’s also so dramatically inert that each new narrative development feels like a slight variation on the last one.

To me, movie reviewers can be so abstract and unfair. They seem to feel like they have to find something wrong. Looking forward to watching it in the next couple of days. Thanks for sharing!

"Our Little Sister" - in Japanese but sub-titled - hard to find a free viewing site sometimes - A very emphasized womens film - {young] in rural Japan - watched it quite a few times - becomes addictive in a way

I still haven't finished Jurassic Park Rebirth which I started the other day. I had also started watching Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, but was intrigued to see this new disaster movie (one of my favorite genres) on Prime. 20.0 Megaquake was okay, but all of those types of movies have the same theme....officials who don't believe there will be a major disaster, as well as too much scientific and technical jargon. At least the disaster scenes start at the beginning of the movie.
