If automakers designed a car just for seniors

I love two features that my 2023 Honda CRV has.
Lane assist, so while driving and if I cross a line the steering wheel shakes.
Drive assist, with this feature turned on, it keeps me in the middle of a lane and will drive it self, great for those late night drives on the highway.
see my daughter and my X have all that... the car could drive itself and cook the dinner pretty much.

I don't want all that , I just want all round vision..high visibility and comfort... suit me fine

How about a built-in tracking system so that when we get old and forgetful and go to the store for a loaf of bread we don't end up in a cornfield in flyover country? It would be useful for those who go looking for us when we wander.
Good idea. Here's another one.
How about if before allowing the car to start, it tells us, "Ummm... you went to the store for a loaf of bread. I see you've loaded $30 of various groceries into the car, but there's no bread. What's up with that?"

I wouldn't mind seeing a come back of the older manual controls for A/C, Radio, Etc.
Completely agree. I find the computer screen extremely distracting.
I still use rear and side view mirror for backing up, though I try to remember to check the camera, as well.
I use the various safety/driver assist features all the time. The backup camera, lane assist, and blind spot monitoring are wonderful, especially since I have some arthritis in my neck so I have limited motion when I look over my shoulder.

There’s also automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning which has been helpful a time or two. Also helpful is the Cross traffic alert, and automatic high/low beam is one less thing to think about. Ron uses the cruise control all the time.
Agree on the safety features.

Something like the Peel would be cool...

...except the seat is on the floor.

My son had one of those Smart cars, but turns out they're not very smart. It hit a deer, which totaled the car. (the deer was fine)

He builds custom bicycles, and he offered to make me one with either two wheels up front with a big basket between them, or a two-wheeler with a mini trailer in back. My legs don't work well at all (which is why I quit driving) but peddling would probly be really good for them, so I'm thinking about it. I like the mini-trailer idea. I'd need a "girl's" frame, though. I can't hike my leg over a ball-buster bar.

Analog gauges, headlight switch on the dash, high beam switch on the floor board, no cameras or info screen, 2 airbags, an A-pillar that doesn't block visibility, headlights that don't destroy night vision, windows that aren't narrow claustrophobic slits, only one computer chip to run the fuel injection.

You know, a real car made with transportation as the actual purpose;)

She does not have all the creature comforts (no computers) of today's cars but as long as the battery is fully charged that's all it needs.
Front buckets are the only real upgrade. They are from a 2000 GMC Denali (seat belts built in) the only thing my wife asked for 😊

Looks like it could use an engine and front end.

Saw one of these at the store yesterday. It was a black lowered chevy Bel-Air or Implala (not sure)share.google. The guy was getting lots of compliments.

Maybe a 1956? Tried to put the link ^^^^
Darn it..the link didnt show up.

A self-driving car would be nice to have. Those are only dangerous to people in front of the car -- not to passengers. :ROFLMAO:
A lady friend bought a Tesla, just for that purpose...self driving. Apparently, her vision is going bad so she bought this Tesla. Something fell on the floor so she bent down to get it and the Tesla didnt like that...so it suspended her driving for a period of time.

Comfy seats and a chauffeur.

If that’s the case, make mine a Hummer😎😎
327 .030 over (yes, she has an engine ☺️ )

You and my late husband would’ve had some good conversations. He was all Ford but still a great car restorer is a great car restorer 🤠🤠

If I ever hit the more money than brains lottery (need to play first), Derek Bieri bought a farm about 90 minutes from me. I would make him an offer he couldn’t refuse to build me something. Something old enough that it has a full frame under it🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️
