Where to vacation in the U.S.?

My wife wants to go on a vacation for a few days, so we're batting around ideas. Personally, I'd rather stay at home, but she wants to get away. I feel like I've already been everywhere that I want to go -- especially since I don't drink any more. We'll probably leave our dog with the in-laws and fly to wherever we go. I guess Canada is a possibility, too, depending on the status of our passports.

So where's your favorite place to go in the U.S.?

Really depends on the season and what you like to do. Most of my favorite places are summer destinations and many of those are Canadian. Especially the Canadian Maritime provinces, like Nova Scotia and Cape Breton. Maine coast is beautiful, in summer. Winter locations, we liked South Carolina and a lot of southern states but we were in a motor home so good camping sites were important. Some people like cities and nightlife. We are more into natural beauty, friendly people, uncrowded ocean beaches and good food. SC has some awesome beaches where you can bicycle for miles.

I would be very happy to just travel the Ozarks, weather permitting. They are plenty tall and plenty beautiful and span four states.
