really ?..in the UK they wouldn't have a leg to stand on... once you've left the store.. it's their loss...
That may be true here, too. However, I do quite a bit of business with them, they know my name when I walk through the door, and they are always helpful so I don't want to do anything to jeopardize a really good relationship. He was really nice when he called, "no rush" he said.

well that's different if they know you already...

What I meant was here..if a supplier makes an error then it's their loss.. generally speaking..

Afternoon all....

It's another glorious sunny day if a little breezy.... blue, blue skies, perfect Spring day.... temp 58 f....🌷 ☀️

Had 2 new hanging plants pots for the fence delivered today...

The spring lambs are here and healthy......I can't get too close to them or the mother bolts... so I had to zoom in quite a bit

Have the best Thursday you can folks.... 🌼🌻
Beautiful ❤️ I want to live there!

Received a call yesterday from the local hardware store/lumber yard. Seems they didn't charge me for everything when I did the last pickup of materials. At that time, I thought it seemed less than expected but just paid and left. Today, I will go in and pay them the $40 I still owe. Will stop at the local grocery store for a couple of items, which never ends up being a couple of items but oh well.

It's already 80F! At 9:00 am! Crazy weather for this time of year.

When our small business had a retail component, I double-checked over every transaction after each of our 25-ish per year, large retail sale events. If an error of more than $10 was made to our detriment, I called the customer to explain the problem. No one ever decline to square up and pay what was owed us, despite it being our error.

Accidentally overcharging customers by more than a dollar or two also merited a phone call. Our customers were impressed by our honesty when I'd apologize for our error and offer the option of a refund check or a credit on their account.

Like @GoodEnuff and his hardware store, our customers were regulars who bought from us at least a couple of times a year, either in person or on line. Sure, they could have declined to pay what they came to realize they owed, but that would have reflected poorly on them.

When I had a dentist appointment in February the dentist had me come back in a month to check an area, then when I went back a few weeks ago she smoothed down some tooth edges and told me to come back in another month, but I got anxious and rescheduled to a couple days ago and she referred me to an Oral Surgeon to get a biopsy.

So today I had the consultation appointment and the doctor said he could do the biopsy right away if I wanted. Now my poor tongue has stitches. I'm glad to be making progress getting it evaluated (though it will take two weeks to get the pathology result), but oh my, it hurts, even though I took both the prescribed 800 mg of Ibuprofen and the optional Tramadol, it stills hurts. I've been using the ice pack off and on per the postoperative instructions on my jaw/chin areas, still hurts. Boo hoo.

I'm supposed to stick to only cold liquid type foods today and soft foods for 10 days, and no crunchy stuff for two weeks. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to have the procedure right away today because next week I'm flying to Denver for a rare family get-together (first time since my mother died in 2015), and I sure hope by the 8th day even if I'm restricted to soft foods probably I'll be able to chew and talk without pain.

I would have thought the tongue biopsy would be considered medical and covered by Medicare/Plan G, but it falls under 'dental', and cost a thousand dollars (the office staff looked really sorry to present such a large bill, but I told them I'd googled the normal cost and they were a few hundred under the top of the range and I was happy about that). On the brighter side of things, pathology is performed by the hospital and does charge Medicare, and my Part D plan covered all but 8 dollars of the 4 prescriptions.

I just hope its not cancer, the idea of that makes the money really unimportant.

to me, that is just ridiculous! Dentists have also been pulled into the opioid so called crisis. It is well known that a dental procedures such as root canals. extractions are going to cause horrible pain.

I refused to participate in their problem. If they can't provide me with pain relief, I can certainly find another dentist to give my money too that makes sure I do not have to suffer.

I am tired of having the government decide what type of care I deserve. The fact that decades of medical care shows pain relief is necessary in recovery of most procedures has been proven. Yes, there will be a few patients that fall victim to pain killers but that should not hamper the general public in medical care.

I walked to and from my podiatry appointment. My doctor is very pleased with how I'm taking care of my feet and over time he's had to spend less and less time on them. On the way home, I stopped at the supermarket to pick up two half gallons of almond milk. I decided to get red grapes and two Friendly's mini sundaes as well. They were out of their store brand butter bread (my favorite) and since I have some in the freezer and plan to make some bread, I didn't buy any other type of bread.

I was tired when I got home, so had a quick snack and took a nap. This evening Honorary Son #3 and I finalized the details of Saturday's broadcast, which will feature my music. We'll also talk about my inspirations, how the music came to be and I'll give some background information on the exceptionally talented people I've collaborated with: my son, my BFF and online bestie. When I get off SF, I'm going to have one of those sundaes and watch something on my tablet. For some unknown reason, I can't connect the wifi using my Roku, but my tablet is connected. I don't feel like figuring it out tonight. Tomorrow is another day.

@HoneyNut, can't imagine how much your tongue hurts with stitches and a biopsy. Even a canker sore on the tongue is irritating and painful.

It strikes me as nonsensical and ridiculous that a tongue biopsy would be considered a dental rather than medical procedure by Medicare. Perhaps because it was performed by an oral surgeon, but even so...

I hope your pain diminishes soon and the biopsy comes back negative for anything serious.

Good morning everyone. It will be 82 degrees today but no rain. We are in a drought area. I didn't think it would happen here but it is now.

We are going to have our taxes done and sent to the IRS this morning.

@HoneyNut I hope your tongue heals fast and you feel better. My best wishes to you for a total recovery.🤗

Have a good day, everyone. :)

I'm sending you a big hug, @HoneyNut, and I hope your pain gets better and that the biopsy is clear.

I just wanted to check in quickly. I'm very unhappy and so will probably be staying offline for a bit. I had another issue come up with the car; now, in addition to the extra $600 for the part that fell off that must be replaced I may be looking at $2,000–$3,000 for a steering issue that may have caused. So, there goes my tax refund, plus more.

At this point I have to question whether it's worth continuing to put money into a 20-year-old vehicle, but there is NO room in my budget for a new car of any sort. Not unless I want to give up my health insurance. 😔

I can't use the car until late Tuesday afternoon, when I bring it in for the repair and to find out what's going on with the steering.

I hope everyone has been well.

Happy Friday, fellow SFers!

The rash on my upper chest from the 30 heart monitor is about to drive me crazy.

An unexpected advantage of toddler grandchildren is having pretty good diaper rash ointment on hand. Whoda thunk it? Downside is that since I'm not covering it the ointment with a diaper, my shirt sticks to the goop. This morning I fashioned some Kleenex over the cream and tucked the bottom of the tissue into my bra.

Another 4am awakening though, which peeves me. It's weirdly frustrating to be annoyed with one's body. Anyway, I did some research on how to stop this 5 hour sleep cycle and hope to break it. Will report back and share the tips if I'm successful. If not, there'll be no point in my blathering on about it.

Have a little of this and a little of that on my schedule today.

Hope all have a great day!

@KSav ...I too am sorry about your car expenses... I've certainly been in your shoes in the past.... I do hope something works out for you.. but I agree with you.. £3k on repairs of a 20 year old car, is probably folly, you could use it to take Ubers , instead... unless you can find a used newer car for cheap.... I wish you luck anyway..it's a horrible situation to be in... but if i was in your postion I definitely would not be spending my tax return on that old car, because next week it'll be something else that needs done

A very off thing has just happened. The postman has just delivered a box, that I was not expecting. It was addressed to my full name including title.. which I NEVER put on any shopping websites.....

The weird part is this.. it's a Huge container of luxury Liquid hand soap.. a One litre refill package... of Elemnt Brooklyn Manadrin crush soap.

Now not only do I never buy soap online.. why would I ?.. but certainly not luxury soap.. and not using my actual real name... , and further to that, theres no receipt or anything in the box to say who sent it..

the only people who have my actual full name is one of my Credit card companies.. which is a high end British company.... but then if they sent it for whatever reason there definitely would be a delivery note inside the box.....but why would anyone send me luxury soap?

DSV solutions The only address is the actual delivery company.. DSV solutions...

Quite the mystery.

In the US, when you're deliberately sent something you didn't order (meaning it wasn't a mis-delivery), it's yours to keep. Is it the same in the UK?

@KSav, that’s a terrible predicament. You can’t be without medical insurance.

Do you have city buses? Ubers? Are you close to stores that you could walk to? Food delivery services.
