Quite the mystery.

In the US, when you're deliberately sent something you didn't order (meaning it wasn't a mis-delivery), it's yours to keep. Is it the same in the UK?

well yes.. but this was addressed specifically to me... to my actual real name.. and like I say only one company aside from the Driving licence company and my Bank.. know my real name..I absolutely never use it online to shop...

I think it depends where in the US one lives. One of the towns I shop in is fairly small and that would pretty much be the same situation with them.

When we moved here 23 years ago, we needed some parts for something. I was working part time, and my husband was working full-time. The folks at the store said they would hang the bag on the door knob and to just slip the money in an envelope under the door. they did and we did, and welcome to a small town in the southern middle Tennessee. There are places where honesty still prevails, we just don’t hear about it very often.

@KSav, that’s a terrible predicament. You can’t be without medical insurance.

Do you have city buses? Ubers? Are you close to stores that you could walk to? Food delivery services.

I'm not willing to go without a car at this point. My town does have a bus system, and we just got Uber recently, but from what I've read both are limited and unreliable here. The bus system in particular has a very poor reputation.

I'll just see what they say on Tuesday, I guess.

I've lived in various parts of the City of Los Angeles for over 50 years now. Percentage-wise, I've found as many honest people here as in the small towns where I grew up.

Our local market town used to be exactly like that.... but then we got a lot of overspill population from London, and so trust went out of the window after some thefts...

here where I live the famers put out fresh groceries, to pay for through an honesty box... Honey, Ducks eggs , hens eggs, Jams etc

Our service here is actually very reliable. Way better than the cab companies we had. More convenient than the bus. I wouldn't rule out the Uber. If it's just now getting Uber it might take a little bit to get things situated for them and make it more efficient. Hope things work out with your vehicle. I've not had one for a while now.

to me, that is just ridiculous! Dentists have also been pulled into the opioid so called crisis.

Blessed, thanks for the concern. Actually the Tramadol prescription is (apparently) an opioid, so the pain I was in yesterday was just in spite of it all. I'm glad they prescribed it, the only different treatment of the opioid prescription that I can detect is that the pharmacy put two checkmarks next to the qty on the bottle, so they must have an extra verification step when counting them out.

The pain is a lot better today, though Jello is still too 'hard' to eat! I melted a bit of jello in the microwave and made a milk+yogurt+jello drink for my breakfast (the jello firmed back up when I added it to the drink but was in tiny shreds and drinkable) (credit for the recipe goes to AI, never would have thought of it myself).
