Are you named after someone in your family or as famous person...

Do you perhaps have a well known recognisable surname..from film or literature...

My first name ( which is not Holly) was chosen deliberately by my other simply because NO-one in the family had it... this in a family where everyone on both sides were named after the previous generations..
She did however appease them by giving me my middle name which is the same name as both grandmothers, andd a favourite aunt...( Margaret)

My surname ( married surname).. is a very well known Name from Literature... instantly recongnisable by everyone when I say it..

How about you.. named after anyone ?... or got a famous name ?

Both
First name is after my father and middle name is after my maternal grandfather, Fonzy.
When I mention my middle name, first thing that comes to mind is the Happy Days TV show of the 70's.
Thing is, Fonzie in that show was spelled differently and was short for (Arthur Herbert) Fonzarelli.
I have no idea where my grandfather's name, Fonzy, came from, but that's my middle name and it isn't short for anything.

Macbeth? Romeo? Eyre? Heathcliff? Give a hint

I have no idea why my first name was given to me, and honestly I've never much cared for the name.

My middle name is Howard which was the name of the man I knew to be my grandfather, who died when I was twelve. A few years after his death I discovered he wasn't my biological grandfather but had married my grandmother when my mom was young.

I am named after my grandmother, who had a well-known Biblical name, but my mother wanted to honor her mother (who had died about a year before) and she disliked the name. So she got a name dictionary and looked up derivatives of the Biblical name, similar but not quite the same. She found one she liked. I am either the only one in the world with that name, or one of the very few. I've always wished she had just stuck with the original Biblical name, but being that I was still unborn, I was not consulted.

My own three children have very common, recognizable names.

I'm a privelaged few who knows your name on this forum.. and I am aware of your thoughts on it... and can imagine how it was to have such a different name back in the day... Today all unusual names are accepted without much question...

I think your name however is beautiful :)
