What are you cooking or baking today?

Two types of cookies for the company yesterday. One type was an oatmeal cookie from a diabetic recipe. *Good, if you like sawdust. The second was Raspberry Thumbprint cookies. Yummy.

*I’m being judgemental. They were ok, but when I eat a cookie I want yummy.
 
Just back from the produce store & Aldi.

Needed some ingredients to pull together my version of the "Jennifer Aniston Salad" that made the rounds a few years ago (that J.A. swore she had no connection to, but that it wasn't too far from something she might eat for lunch).

I always make a big batch se we can enjoy it for 2-3 days.
 
I had some inexpensive steak to cook so did a suggested velvet tenderizer. It worked, unless the steak was already tender. Next time will give me an answer.

The easy creamy peppercorn sauce became really fiddly. The grinder wasn’t grinding right. The Courvoisier cork dissolved into the cognac. It had to go through a sieve. Obviously I don’t use it often. Then I had the wrong kind of cream. It all had great flavour, just too much work
