hopefully they'll give you the info you want.I have an appointment to go over my annual physical next week. The last time I got very little information. i am asked "do you have any questions?" My question should be "Why do I consult a professional when I am expected to do all the work?" This might be a slight exaggeration but ths is how it feels.
I have Myopic Macular Degeneration. The rite eye is wet and I have no reliable vision in it. The left eye is dry, and I have less that 50% vision there. I did get the eye needle jabs every 6 weeks in the wet eye and there was no change in the months I went through it.went to eye doc today. Good news, my macular degeneration is stable however, my right eye with the cataract won't get better with surgery . Then i was given a choice of an injection in my left eye to try and stop the vision loss. No guarantees, and shot every 6 weeks. Has anyone had this done?
I haven't kept up on what is going on with you. Have you been ill?Went to my Primary Dr. this morning, it was so nice to see his smiling face and eyes beaming
at me. He said, "When you get serious, you really do a cracker job of it!"
He always makes me laugh. He asked how I was doing and reassured me I did just as I should have to avoid
bad complications. He added after I get the next Endoscopy done I should be well and over this.
Hearing that from him I can believe it and feel so much more relieved now.
Spent the last 2 days in the hospital Here's the thread so I don't clog up this oneI haven't kept up on what is going on with you. Have you been ill?
So sorry to hear that. I hope you keep us updated. I hope you get better soon. It's funny how as we age when we get taken down by something we really get dragged down to the bottom.Spent the last 2 days in the hospital Here's the thread so I don't clog up this one![]()
Do you have a health portal that allows all that to come to your computer? My experience here in Toronto goes like this. If I have a blood test today at noon, the results will be on my computer health portal in 4 hours, on my home computer. Same thing for CT scans, and x rays, results in a few hours delivered to my home computer.
Telephone conversations with my Primary Care M.D. are recorded using a computer program called Scribe, which listens to our conversation, and immediately afterwards it generates a summary of what we discussed, what medicine changes were ordered, and delivers that summary to my home computer with in a hour. The Scribe program is also used during video conversations with my various specialists. Having the Scribe print out makes it easy to keep track of what changes have been made in my care.
I speak with my primary care M.D. on the phone twice a month, on a Thursday at 11.30 AM. The Cardio and internal medicine Docs are available by phone with an appointment made the day before the call.
Both my Wife and I are long time patients at Women's College Hospital. In my Wife's case she has been a patient at WCH for over 50 years, since she first came to Canada, as a young woman. The motto at WCH is....WE are the hospital that keeps you OUT of the hospital. JIMB>
