I was a little disconcerted this morning

Every day I have been here thus far, my host, David, is up and about before 5am.
I became worried when he had not risen by 8.30am.
Has he died in his sleep? That was the thought going through my mind. At what point do I check on him?
So many thoughts were circling around in my mind.
Here I am, newly arrived and staying with David. His daughter was/is against my moving in until she has met me and approved the venture or otherwise.
That would look really suspicious, 4 days after my arrival, her father dies.
So many thoughts were going through my mind. Police involvement, I would have to move out immediately, the need to find 2 weeks accommodation as I fly back to Perth on May 4th.
I decided on a course of action. Go up to the shopping centre and have a coffee. If he has not surfaced by the time I returned, I would knock on the bedroom door and see if he is still breathing.
What more could I do? If he had passed, an extra hour is not going to change anything.
I was so relieved when I heard footsteps down below. Whew.
All that worry went straight out the door.

The man decided to sleep in. I could understand how your thought processes worked the way they did though B. :) Have you met his daughter yet? If not, when is that supposed to happen?

He told me that he got up at 3am, went on the net for an hour or so, then went back to bed. I have not met his daughter as yet. There is no set day when she will visit, but it will most likely be within a week, I'm sure.
One of my thoughts was he might sleep in on the weekend, but that is not usual for people who have retired.

Aside from the dense traffic, I hope you are enjoying your time there @Bretrick. Most likely not many beautiful birds to photograph!
So far, so good. Really looking forward to moving here permanently.
There is Tirhatuan wetland nearby. 3.5km to be exact. Looking forward to visiting with my camera.
Yesterday I spotted a loud Butcher Bird. Never had my camera with me.
